Which is why he won the Leigh Matthews trophy.

Which is both a better award and a better guide to the best player in the game.

It’s worse than the Brownlow. Voted on by players who are playing in the VFL? Seriously.

The Coaches Award is the best indicator and Bont finished 6th

Did anyone hear Dan Hannebery’s comment about the Saints coming hard for LDU this trade period? Surely we tell them to “get off the fire truck”.

What are they offering?

They only have 7, 24, 43. LDU is worth more than that combined.
There is literally NO combination of picks and players they could throw our way to even consider it. Literally the only trade for LDU that wouldn't be emotionally gut wrenching would have to land Harley Reid at the club. Not happening.

irrelevant if its a warchest and he exercises FA.
He was babbling on (obviously had a beer or two) about how much he loves playing with those guys, about winning a flag with them and how all this shit will be worth it when we do, when he spoke after winning the Syd.

All we have to do is not take away his reasons to believe in that and he'll stay.

If LDU wins a flag with us that will mean more to him than any amount of extra cash, especially as he'll be getting a seven figure sum off us every year he plays for North anyway. If he stays he has the chance of greatness, footy immortality and to have his name alongside the like of Malcolm Blight, Wayne Carey, Keith Greg, Glenn Archer and other football legends.

He's gonna be a multi millionaire anyway.

He's such a fantastic player.

When he gets a burst run and breaks away from the stoppage, the opposition is ****ed. They don't know whether to maintain distance staying with their man or try and stop him getting closer to goal and it's glorious to witness as a supporter. You straight away think, 'they don't know how to control him' and he's going to have a freaking amazing quarter as a result.

The three goals he kicked against the Tigers and that sublime game against the Dees is just scratching the surface of what he's capable of.

He will keep going to another level and perhaps lift the floor of the team along with Parker (who would be equally as excited to witness the beast of LDU).

It's so easy to forget how good this bloke is when the last two rounds left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. Reset next year, LDU. It's time.

He’s a RFA next year. Picks wont matter.
By this time next year you'd expect he is on a long term contract at North.

Honestly anything other than that is an epic failure.

If we lost LDU it would force a conversation about downgrading our membership level in my household.

I meant more that it’ll take a lot of the grunt work off his shoulders… if North plan on playing him as an inside mid, which I assume we are and is one of the reasons he’s coming.
Gotchya.

Will be very interesting as LDU carried a heavy burden last season.
