He is going well and building quite the toolkit of skills despite injury interruptions.

When was the last time we had our most talented players have a free run without interruption, season on season?

Cunnington before 2021?

LDU's offensive numbers are slightly down this year - a number of reasons behind this including where Nobes is playing him of course - but they are slightly down.

His defensive numbers are slightly up which is good to see.

The jury is well and truly out on whether LDU can elevate his game to the elite level over the coming years.

At the moment he is very much in the 'average to above average' category in nearly all stats - in reality he is miles behind the truly elite mids in the competition.

What I like is that you can see him trying to work hard - trying to improve - he is doing alot more of this than most of his team mates so for this he should be commended.

LDU turns 23 next week and the next 18 months will give us the answer as to where LDU will sit relative to the best mids in the competition.

Important to note he had two games where he didn’t run out the game due to injury (one in the first q).

Interested what the numbers are without those injury-impacted games. Anyone know?

You can't look at this blokes season and think he won't be a star of the comp once our systems are better developed.

He improves consistently year on year and has learned to run both ways. Next pre-season needs an emphasis on set shot routine and maybe developing himself in the leadership realm because he is a dark horse there.

We all know he can break the game open. His offensive numbers are down only because the team sucks offensively at the moment.

Wouldn't trade for the number 1 pick. Brayshaw and Naughton his only competition from that draft.

He's trying.

Unfortunately the "captain in waiting" has been a complete liability this season standing next to him.
Jy looks like the speed of the game has gone past him which I don't think is the case.. The hack kick forward seems to be his weapon of choice these days.. They all miss Cunners

tell your son to remember when he gets drafted to request trade back to north asap. we could use his talents asap. 👍🍻
We live in QLD so not gonna happen.

On LDU - He's flicking between 2nd and 3rd gear this year.

When he can consistently be in the top 2 gears he'll be a 30+ 1 goal mid

With injury affected game
20.8 disposals, 4.2 marks, 3.9 tackles, 3.8 inside 50s, 4 clearances

Minus injury-affected game (subbed out first quarter vs Eagles, dont recall what the other one was)
22.5 disposals, 4.6 marks, 4.2 tackles, 4.1 inside 50s, 4.4 clearances

Last year
21.9 disposals, 4.8 marks, 3.2 tackles, 4.2 inside 50s, 4.5 clearances

Hard not to have him as one of your favourites if you're a North fan. Humble, dynamic, explosive, uses the ball well and only getting better. Clearly different from a personality point of view to Cunners, but has that same trait of going about his business quietly and with humility.

Said it before and I'll keep saying it, I think he's the best midfielder on our list and I'm really glad he's gotten a real clean run at it this year with his fitness and health. Genuine chance at becoming a top 5-10 midfielder in the competition with his skill-set and potential.

A shining light with a few others in what's been a dark year to say the least.

TT has the physical tools to be amongst our best but it remains to be seen whether he has that edge to push himself to that level week in week out. I agree on LDU though, best on our list as a true power mid (obviously Cunnington not part of this).

He was that shining light in 2020 too.

Building....

If he isn't leading the Syd I'd be very surprised.

Real consistency will kick in after another pre season and he won't be tamed.

15 disposals and a goal in the last quarter. Superb.

572m gained along with 6 clearances, we are seeing the rise of a super player.
