To think we would of had Luke Dunstan instead, had Mick Malthouse not of pushed for Cripps so hard. Mick wanted Cripps as he was a leader, and we were devoid of any leaders at the time.

I know this for a fact.

Talk about a fork in the road moment.

OK if that is true then I forgive Malthouse for what he did to us and that is really saying something .

Kernahan, Bradley, Doull, Williams, Silvagni, Hunter, Judd........ Could go on.

How blessed we have been in my lifetime of Blue love.

None however has done more or been greater than our CHAMPION CAPTAIN, CRIPPA.

The leadership and inspiration of Sticks and Judd.

The vision and ball hunting/sharing ability of Deisel.

The courage, toughness and selflessness of Hunter.

The will to win and love of the jumper like SOS.

The quiet humility and ability to inspire by deed like Doull.

The endurance and character to push through exhaustion like Braddles.

ONLY ONE CUP away from being the GREATEST BLUE OF ALL IMO.

We are truly blessed to have him and it has been a privilege to watch him for the past 199 games.

Congrats Crippa, have a great 200th.

Agree that’s all he needs to become THE best ever blue.

Top 5 that I’ve seen IMO.
1.Cripps
2.Johnston
3.Kernahan
4.Bradley
5.Kouta

All match winners.

If Cripps wins the brownlow and club champion then adds a premiership hands down the undisputed best ever blue regardless of how many flags others have won.

His journey is unlike many others.

If you were to compare his afl career to that of Kernahan/Bradley for instance both of those players came into a very successful powerful side,Cripps started in one of the worst sides in Carlton’s history could’ve easily left but stuck around became captain and lifted this side out of the s***.

Just a champ in so many ways and if the group can’t lift for him after everything he’s done that’ll be extremely disappointing.

It wasn’t until Patrick Cripps came to Carlton that I finally believed the dark days would come to an end.

We’d made terrible decision after terrible decision at Carlton but you just knew that he wasn’t going to have a career without carrying us out of the dark, on his shoulders. It was the heaviest weight to carry and only the toughest could succeed.

If we don’t go f’n berserk today with physicality, in the name of Cripps, I’ll spew.

He deserves success more than any player who I’ve seen play for Carlton and I’ve been going every week for nearly 35 years.

An absolute top tier legend of the Club.

I was thinking about Patty and what a superstar he is.

So I decided to check out all time clearance stats.

He currently sits 17th at 1414.

But he has the highest average of the top 30 at 7.11 a game

Joel Selwood has the most with 1844.

If he maintains the average he would need 60 games to pass that mark.

There are active players above him on the list, so the goal posts may move, but wow!
