A.Fiora officially a Saint

I have supported Aaron since the club picked him up. Fast, loves a run.
That said..
He has sucked, total waste of a pick. I was looking forward to seeing if he could do anything under wallace, who loves a quick running type, but i really can't see him making much of it. Hope he does though.
To you Saints fans, I reckon, given the circumstances, he was worth a punt.

Fiora could come good at St.Kilda. He has talent, and the talent around him at the Saints will make him look and play better IMO.

But Im happy to have Simmonds for Fiora, very happy.

SEN news just said the three way trade has been completed with St Kilda getting Aaron Henneman.

So let's not get too upset about Fiora.

My major fear this week was trying to work out how we would fit Whitnall into the salary cap and then try and keep our young players next year as Joffaboy has just said.

Fiora has ability. It will be interesting to see where we play him. He seemed to be at his most effective for Richmond as a running defender playing a similar (albeit far worse) job to Aussie Jones. Hopefully everyone will give him a chance.

Goose.

(The correct way of phrasing it is "Goddard is a dud compared to Wells" ;) )

The only smart reason for doing this is for salary cap reasons - fiora would practically be base wages while Black was on a bit. If this means that Saints get to keep Ball, Goddard, Dal Santo etc etc etc then fair enough.

Perhaps even letting off a bit of steam before it comes to it next year when players come up for pay rises.

On a negative spin - perhaps this is the first sign of Haemoraging by the saints due to Salary cap pressure - have to put up with a Dud deal just to keep under the cap.

Fiora is not a dud, he just lacks guidance and confidence.

Better role models at St.Kilda this year than Richmond the last 5.

Good luck to Aaron and the Saints.

Lets just see who wins the games next year ey?? :D
Im tippin the saints will over your rabble. Jason Gram in for Heath Black ooooooooooooooooooo big loss! .

Montagna, Clarke bros, M.Ferguson, L.Fisher and Goddard are all HUGE TALENTS ready to step up.... Black pfft we don't need him not for 400,000 a year. I'd take Ball, Dal Santo, Hayes, Gram over Black anyday.

It's called handling the cap concessions. They have done it well players mentioned above should have huge years next year (just as much as black would've) AND all for a third of the price.

whatever you post from now on has no relevance as this one statement has destroyed any credibility you may have had.

If you believe that Goddard is a dud, you are a complete know nothing fool.

I would agree. Goddard will be a real star. Good player .

Don't turn this discussion into a pathetic argument like this, we are discussing the trade on it's merits, not each team overall. Just remember, you may kick us now while we are down, but you were here not that long ago so you should know more than anyone how quickly things can change.

To use Dermie terminology, I think St Kilda have bent over and "taken one for the team". In doing so they have ensured that their player got to go to his nominated team. I applaud them for that. I'm sure that Thomas is well aware that on face value, they may have come away losers out of this one.

You typify the Tiger supporter mate...Eat your own! I bet you are the person behind the dumping of all that manure a few years back at Punt Road Oval. You and your Tiger supporter mates are disgraceful!

Fiora played well in the first half of the year while, like the majority of his team mates, went missing in the second half.

let me just ask u one question u moron....when did st kilda last win a flag ****************

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Can't believe we've been screwed like this, our trading record has been pretty good in the past.. :S

Unless he improves 1000%, we've been well and truly bent over. Not a hard bone in his body but plenty of clangers.

i am fairly sure st. kilda can get better performances out of fiora than richmond did.

but i can't see him playing a significant role in thier team.

Aaron Fiora may not have lived up to his #3 pick in the 1999 draft, but he has been one of the better players in Richmonds disappointing last two years. He has genuine pace and seems capable of playing a role for us from the wing / HBF like Aussie.

Good luck to Aaron in his new home.

At least we got someting back for Black, it was either that or he walked..

We have a stacked midfield as it is, this just clears up a fair bit of money, so we can keep our stacked midfield in place for the next 5 years. With Harv's retiring after next season, and with Black gone, that gives us a whole wad of cash to keep the Vultures from circling Morrabbin come contract time :)

Well, if you want me to be technical U MORON, this year, 2004 Wizard Cup Flag...

With a nickname like yours, proves you live in the past.

:D :D :D

Fiora displays ability but seems to have shocking disposal at crucial times. In saying that i think he will easily get a spot over Xavier Clarke.

I agree...

I think Im the only Saints fan who thinks Xavier Clarke is a waste of a talent. Goddard has shwon his full potential yet, but you can see it in him, X-man just cant keep it together...

X lost me during that crucial game against Melbourne. In the 3rd quarter...Saints had all the momentum. Clarke decides to fly for a speccy over his own team mate, misses it, takes him and Schwarze to ground, Russell Robertson butters up and a goal eventuates for Melbourne. That's where we lost the game.

I think he can be a fine player however...Has the skill to do so. Needs to develop a bigger body.
