What exactly were VAR checking? There was never a hint of offside. Can't have looked at the foul for obvious reasons!

Who knows... I'm guessing they never really looked at the incident, or just to see if it should upgraded.
But hey, this seems to have been a pretty universal application of the technology. There were 2 shockers in the EPL on Saturday night. One costing Arsenal a goal and potentially 2 points which they might need for the title race - the VAR operater used the wrong defender to uphold an offside goal..

They also should have reversed the Fornaroli goal. Defender played the ball making his finish the next phase of play.
