A-League Round three and its a special round for the first time we will have the very first New Zealand Derby in the A-League when Wellington Phoenix take on Auckland FC at the 'Cake Tin' on Saturday evening. A packed house, two passionate supporter bases, two in form teams what more can we ask for in a derby hopefully it delivers. The other big game of the week is that other other Melbourne Derby on Melbourne Cup eve or as we 'Vuck' fans would say the who cares derby :tearsofjoy:. Hopefully both WU and City fans come out for it. Should be a fun week of A-League football.

Auckland have come in with a lot of noise and it’s been fantastic.

This rivalry with Wellington looks to be a pearler already. Will be interesting to see how the turnout is and how many fans travel.
Should be above 20k at least, if the GM has said sales are at 17k+ today.

18k sales already. How many typically rock up and buy on the day at the stadium? Surely it would be within the interests of the "Nux to offer cheap general admin tickets on gameday to fill the place.

How many Auckland fans are expected?

Don't quote me on this, this is only what I've seen on the Yellow Fever forum but someone assumed walk ups were anywhere between 3-7k, depending on the weather.

Auckland look to have sold about 50% of their away bay allocation (the bottom section is mostly gone)

why are the Roar playing at Suncorp? Nobody there embarrassing for the league.
Sounded, and at times looked like a half decent crowd. Wouldn't help being a 630 start, also doesn't help when you play in a 50 ish k stadium and get under 10k

Oh for **** sake. We fought so hard, just to piss it away like that.

They did that a few times mate and left themselves exposed. One did lead to a great passage of play, but it wasn't to be.

Thought Auckland were best for most of the day and deserved the win.

What a crowd too!!

Fantastic day all round for the sport.

The whinging from CCM fans is ridiculous. That was not a penalty. By the time the ball hits Canga's arm it is by his side. You can also make the argument that it hit high enough on the arm for it to not be handball in the first place.
