Honestly that penalty save by Glover was better than any goal you will see this year. The disappointed reaction by that Oompa Lumpa (Portly Sydney fan) they showed immediately after was most satisfying. Pretty good half of football, it has had everything
You can have your save. We will take the win.

lol where you dig that up? I remember that flog meme! MV.net (as well as on here too) was all over it back in the day we had a lot of fun with it!
it was like a 20min video just focused on the cove which was later taken down lol

Taken from the Nabbout match back in 2012 during Ange's reign when we come back from 2-0 to win 3-2! Andrew Nabbout come on and scored two goals including the winner!

I know the Smurfs are the benchmark of the league, but yeah, I am actually even madder than what i was last week, but I probably went too far after the Derby (and was more drunk than Barney Gumble after a keg or two)

Well played Sydney, but Smellbridge can jog on, had enough of that bloody hippie looking malaka who isn't as good as he or everyone thinks he is.

McLaren has gone missing two weeks in a row now, Whats up? Is he carrying an injury? Is he disinterested? I know players particular strikers go through form slumps but it just seems so sudden and out of the ordinary considering his early season form.

The f@cking snake scores!! How have City blown this?

Cause we are mentally weak as pish. That"@

Who knows mate ? Would be surprised if J-Mac is still here next season, but his poor form lately is only a part of the symptoms currently plaguing our club

But as I said last week, it's all academic anyway, Sydney FC will bolt it in with the Premier's Plate and Toilet Seat with easy.

It's up to the other HAL clubs to reinvent themselves to try and match it with SFC next season, along with City, Adelaide and Perth' s flakey form have been bitterly disappointing this season, and it's becoming as boring and predictable as Liverpool ****in it in the Premier League.

Why wasnt the gane played at the FFA Cup venue? Would have been nice to jam 5-6k in at a proper football venue.
That's a jolly good question and in a word: Facilities.

.... or lack of at Ballarat's main soccer ground. In a nutshell. Morshead Park (Capacity 4,500) lacks broadcast facilities, video scoreboard, fixed toilets, shaded seating etc.

I am sure that the FFA looked at all available options and GMHBA Stadium and Mars Stadiums were the best available to the West of Melbourne where Western United are trying to build their support base. 5,084 people attended Saturday's game and it is anticipated that as many as 11,000 will attend the Good Friday game in Ballarat when WU play Melb City. At least the weather in Ballarat will likely be much kinder then and afford fans the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the grounds terraces.

The image below (Courtesy of the Ballarat Courier) shows the ground on Saturday with 5,000 people seeking cover from the sun and heat:

As a start up club WUFC without its own dedicated stadium yet, they had to take what was available. AAMI Park is fully committed to Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City and the Melbourne Rebels RUFC. The MCG and Marvel Stadiums are committed to other uses and aren't centred West of the city. The WUFC couldn't exclusively book GMHBA Stadium because it is also used by the Geelong FC as well as the Big Bash cricket competition. To that end they sought four games at the next best available venue at Ballarat.

I suspect that Mars Stadium afforded a better atmosphere last Saturday for 5,000 people rather than them being swallowed up in the vastness of the 35,000 capacity GMHBA Stadium anyway.
