AFL says thanks!!!

Why on earth does what GC are doing help the AFL? Do people think to themselves...shit Clive Palmer is being a dick so I won't go to the football this weekend, instead I'll become an AFL fan and go to a GC game in 18 months instead? The AFL will find out soon enough what sort of sports fans GC people are...

They are going to seriously struggle to get the crowds back now, the club have rubbed the gold coast people the wrong way, the question will be now whether they can beat the NZ knights as the quickest team to enter then exit the league, my money is on the GC.

Had they not capped the capacity the additional 4,000 or so that would of turned up would have covered the $100,000 increased stadium rent.
They have cost themselves money and pissed off a lot of people, good job all round.
Absolutely. Not only do you get money from ticket sales but the more people there, the more food and drinks they buy thus enabling them to make more money on concessions. Start getting into the community and get people to come and watch what was one of the better teams in the league until recently and if they can get something close to what The Reds are getting then surely close to 11,000 people on a regular basis will be enough to cover costs.

There is definitely something more to this than meets the eye.
