Not just Muscat - Burns is targeted week in week out with cheap shots and being manhandled and the Refs do nothing

Do they want to wait till some idiot breaks his leg before they do anything

Maybe his reputation for going down easily is coming to get him. He needs to cut out that part of the game for his own sake, because he will become one of the best players we have produced if he does.

Finally we played with the right tactics, right style and the right personal and its no coincednce that in the first half and for the latter stages of the second half we play adelaide off the park.

Whats hurt us this year is what Adelaide's done so far this year, being able to pull out points in the last 2 weeks when they've been outplayed for long periods of games. Thats the difference between them in 2nd and us in 6th. And the fact that they don't have kemp as well.

Where is Ernie Sigley - would like to hear his thoughts on Kaz........

jlc
And where have you been since round 1?
I didn't go to the game so I can't tell you what I thought of the club saviours game. However I did notice that Adelaide scored 2 while he was on and us none, while Victory scored 2 after he was subbed and Adelaide none. Coincident?

My god could they get any more biased....f*cking clowns. Cockerill (victorian journo

erm...nah. Cockerill is a Sydney journo, writes about Sydney FC all week and is about as light blue as they come.

You want biased? You listed to Andy Harper or Robbie Slater when Victory play SFC (especially in Sydney). They actually groan when we score.

As for the game, a point is a step in the right direction....but the club also needs to be looking off the field too. 22k at the Grand Final re-match on a beautiful saturday night? i know most clubs would be stoked, but i would have expected a lot better (im sure the protest would have cost a few thou through the gates)

Doesn't excuse thousands of people cheering like crazy when he went off.

What are they trying to do, make him neck himself?

Sorry mate, completely disagree with you there. Kemp has had a boatload of chances this season and his performances have been absolutely shithouse. He's no good going forward and he takes his time tracking back. I don't know why we signed him. He's useless and the crowd should be cheering when his bald head is dragged from the field.

Patafta was very impressive. I was very disappointed when he was subbed to bring on Love, who is another of Merrick's love children, despite a series of ordinary efforts. Anyone else hear the "you don't know what you're doing" chant from one section of the crowd? That about sums up my feelings on Merrick's tactics this season.

Yep, walking into the ground there were a few people outside. Not that many to seriously affect the official number though.

I think the big thing is the kickoff time for Saturday nights. 7pm kickoff is near impossible to make for people that are playing cricket and other sports that take most of the day.

 What reputation? Oh that's right the myth that the Coward Muscat was trying to spread earlier on in the season  We watch Burns week in week out and trust me there is none of that in his game, if there was he would get a shit load more free kicks every week.

I haven't seen him week in week out but i would have seen most of the games he's played in this season and he goes down far too easily.

I think we need to ease up on the Kaz love in this thread - he was OK, nothing more than that. Taking him off after an hour was a bit pointless though.

As for the game, I thought we had a fantastic first half, we played some very fluent football, kept it on the deck and had a rapid succession of near-misses. The second half was ordinary really, but we were worth a point on the night. The draw does us no good though, we still need a miracle.

The Low crowd tipifies the bandwagon attitude on soccer.

I don't buy that at all - if anyone thought 40,000 would be the norm, they've got rocks in their head. 25,000 was always going to be about the average this year and we wouldn't be far off that at all. 23,000 last night is still 12,000 more than Sydney drew, and will probably be about 8,000 more than Queensland get today.

Yes, but what happened to these 35k crowds that turned up in the latter rounds last year and early this year?

We haven't got 35k to any game this season, IIRC. 31k in the home opener against Perth and than 31k again vs Sydney is the best we've done. Even when we were going brilliantly last season, we never pulled more than 30k for any game not involving Sydney or Adelaide.

wank response. every club has a group of core supporters that will stick it out through thick and thin just like every club gets their bandwagon support.

Exactly the point of my post. I was using Melbourne as an example because they have gone from number 1 to number 6 so suddenly.

As pointed out the 7pm start on a Saturday is rubbish, especially during cricket season.

No doubt the attitude of Telstra Dome is also affecting the crowd, and certanly the atmosphere. Says a lot that the 20 minutes before the game involved nothing but anti-Dome chants, the sooner we are out of that hole the better.

Onto the game, Kaz was good but not great, deserves more of a chance. The cheering for Kemp getting subbed, well it's not great but I sort of understand it. This guy has probably been the worst signing in A-League history. And what's it going to take for Merrick to make the change? Kemp turned it over 10 times in the 2nd half alone. Start Keegan there PLEASE!

All in all we showed we should be doing better, but we won't be playing finals.

How about when Burns was obviously injured and none of the Victory pr*cks would put the ball out, had to wait for the ref to blow a halt in the game, and then Muscat had the balls to complain and bitch to the ref.....what a half back flanker!! And then you guys wonder why we hate your "inspirational captain." For me I wouldn't shed a tear if he just curled up and died. Can't stand the pr*ck!!

How about Lucas Pantelis had a chance to put it out as well and he decided to play on too?

He did a hamstring. Its not like he needed a stretcher or anything, he walked off the field.
