Like this one.

And this one, without the star in the top left hand corner.

Don't know why I made the blue for the last one (which was actually the first one I did) so pale, pretend it's the colour of the rest.
i actually quite like this one with the lighter blue. if we're going to alter the flag, or create a new one completely, we need not neccessarily stick with the current colours. the white and this particular blue go quite well together with this design, imo. and frankly a lot nicer to look at than any other flag in this thread involving any combination of blue, red, green, gold/yellow and white.

Don't mind the blue but our current national colours (practically every Australian sports team uses them), green and gold, should be part of any new flag. Some people are against a kangaroo but others are against the Union Jack, you can't please everyone. Besides, the Australian coat of arms is quite symbolic.

I don't mind the use of a kangaroo symbol. I especially like the use of 'blue'. It's a colour most identifiable with the current flag, so it makes sense to include it in a mock-up. I think the colour 'green' should be ignored.

The blue/green transition is an aquired taste .
The blue/gold/green is much more acceptable
as my (slightly out of proportion) attempt and those above show .

That's why I like the one 2nd from the top in my post. It has the green and gold stripe, representing the country. To the left of the stripe, "enclosed", is the 7 pointed star, representing the states and territories, which make up the country. To the right is the Southern Cross, a symbolic of our location, and perhaps leadership role, in the southern hemisphere.

The coat of arms is the coat of arms, putting it on the flag as well is overkill, but we need something that is symbolic of Australia, and the 7 pointed star, behind a green and gold stripe, under the Southern Cross, is arguably just that.

Here it is again:

Definitely my favourite from the ones I've done.

Some designs I knocked up last night and this arvo.

I prefer this one because it retains the basis of the current without colour corrupting it .Inspired by the Solomon Islands which is the only flag with a blue/yellow/green combination.

A variation of this would be a yellow federation star on green in the first third of the flag .I have seen something like that elsewhere .

.

why would we steal that from them? We already took their land, children, we sometimes just dont know where to stop

yeah, well they took my bike, so fair's fair.
