Best ruckman of the last 30 years , bar none.
Ill never forget watching him run around the paddock picing up touch after touch, roving goals like he was a little fella and just flat out dominating games off his own boot. Without doubt the most inrdecibly agile 199cm man to ever play the game. And fittest
His touches per game are incredible for a ruckman, and never seen before in the history of the game
Unfortunately the website didnt have the stats from 1991, his Brownlow year, but he from memory he would have averaged 25+ touches per game. Phenomenal
Stynes, 1993 onwards...
1993 - 22.2 disposals per game, 6.2 marks per game,
1994 - 17 dpg, 5 mpg
1995 - 18.2 dpg, 6.1 mpg
1996 - 20.4 dpg, 6.5 mpg
1997 - 20.5 dpg, 5.7 mpg
1998 - 11.7 dpg, 2.8 mpg
Its crazy to think that the year before he retired he was getting the ball over 20 times a game. In 1998, the Dees recruited Jeff White, and Jimmys playing time fell. However the dynamic duo helped take the Demons to the Preliminary Final
If anyone has Jimmy stats from his Brownlow season in 1991, please post them
You forgot to mention the 1987 preliminary final against hawthorn. Jim Stynes crossed the mark to give away a 15-metre penalty. In-return, Garry Buckenara goaled after the siren to give the hawks the game. Costing Melbourne a place in the grand final.
Nice one jimmy
