The thing I remember the most about that game was when Lewie kicked the goal, Stevan Jackson ran around trying to pump the guys up. Made my blood boil as Jackson had a very lazy day and he was at fault for allowing the Bombers easy kicks for not running, tackling or helping out his team mates.

Anyone see the thing on Jackson in the paper last weekend?

I remember the first time Geelong played against the Eagles back in 1987. The game was down at Geelong and unfortunately, I couldn't go so had to settle for listening to it on the radio. I was only 9 years old, and I remember thinking there was no way Geelong should lose to the new club on the block at home... how embarassing!!

The game was close, we were behind for a while... thank goodness we got up and won by a goal. :)

Geelong 13.13.91 to West Coast 12.13.85

Gary Ablett took a pretty good mark in that game... one that ended up on an old poster I have somewhere around my house. :D

He was as useful as Brett Spinks was.

We don't speak of that man around Geelong after his rather ordinary stint at the Cattery.;)

What are your thoughts on Mitchell White?

While Mitchell White was playing for the Eagles, I had a lot of respect for him as a footballer... very good football brain, could play either in defence or in attack, good player.

Unfortunately, his body isn't able to handle the pressures of AFL football now which is a shame. I don't think Geelong has lost anything from drafting Mitchell White, a good learning experience for our young players to have someone like White around to help them develop.

'white', that name makes my blood boil. not as much as that bad-haired mullet gehrig though. grrrr G E H R I G

white was a great player and i had a lot of respect for him, but why go to geelong because we were a sinking side. talk about jumping ship....

I was under the impression White was pushed out.

Anyway,

First game was literally their first game. Some friends and i became members and would go straight to the Friday waca games from school. I think the membership was $22 or something like that.

Most memorable games. Carlton in 95, The Saints in 90(If i remember rightly it was also pi55ing down) and the 92 Grand final. We borrowed left, right and centre to get there and nearly died when the Cats were up at quarter time. Decided if we lost we would stay in Melbourne never to return! Nearly got run over by Micky and Woosha rushing to get to the post parade press conference.

Worst games were nearly all coached by Judge, but that could also be due to paying for memberships when we knew we couldn't attend the games.

It looks like Eagle fans rate Ken Judge as much as Geelong fans rate Gary Ayres for what they did to each club while they were coach.

KJ lacked what is termed as 'communications skills'. Although in his defence whilst coach the squad was decimated by injuries and it was a very young team on the paddock

Gary Ayres did to Geelong what he is currently doing to Adelaide.... draft players and hoping to jag a Premiership in the short term with the current list because long term, the Crows will have nothing left after their good players retire.
