Trades Woosha doesn't have the balls to make
8. A.Selwood

Trades Woosha is 1-2 years too late on or doesn't have the balls
10. Cox
11. Kerr
12. Glass

Pretty easy

So let me ask you this, if the Eagles traded all of their remaining experience and we finished bottom again next season, because that will happen in this scenario, would you all still be calling for Worsfold's head?

I would because even if he starts gettinng his list management calls right that doesn't fix the problems that he has been there too long an dthings are stale and he can't even compete, let alone beat, the other coaches in the league on game day tactically with his game plan or in terms of structure, organisation and discipline levels of the side he puts on the park. He gets his pants pulled down in these areas every week and wants to use the youth excuse to paper over it.

But if he started making the right calls and was prepared to start making considered, intelligent and rational decisions on players instead of just backing everybody in all the time because he has emotional attachments to them and isn't gutsy enough to make decisions i would have a lot less reason to want him gone. This is the main way he is f***ing up the club. It's clear he gets a big woody in his pants and smug look on his face when he it fails and he gets criticised for wasting the clubs resources on failed players because he sees himself as a courageous selfless martyr when he wastes the clubs time and resources backing in players with no hope or talent.

well, it was the year we did have...
next year will be better going on last few games, and the performance of youngsters..
it appears there will be some big changes made around club this offseason - its started with broadbridge..which seems to me to be a very neat pre emptive surgical strike to a root cause of our problems - for those complaining about wooshas lack of cahoonies..i mean the seasons not even over and he's made a statement-one that many here were on about for some time-skills.

re a gutted and rebuilding team-the art of making a silk purse from a sows ear in these early days- i'm not sure how many coaches could achieve that miracle?? - to keep in context.
i think a lot of the bemoaners will feel cheerier next year..we 'should' be more consolidated on field.
i also found that female journos article re koby stevens etc-a great read giving lots of insight into the preparation of young players, and how difficult it really is to play at AFL level, let alone get a game, and fit into a team, and perform to expectations -and how easy it is for us armchair critics..
i wonder who will win the spoon next year?????

Paul Keating would be proud of this quote.

Except Keatings statement was truthful.

1982 Recession was the "Recession the US had to have." Thanks to that recession and the reforms to the Monetary System under Paul Volcker they avioded what could have been serious recessions in 87, 92 and 96.

Woosha's comments piss me off because he seriously thinks Priddis and A.Selwood will make us a better team.

I'd like to think the damage has already been done and we'll move forward next year.

With a Kerr, LeCras, Masten, Shuey, Scooter, + (Swift, Ebert, Pick4) rotation, i see no reason why we won't make the 8 with the Subi advantage.

Then again, if it's Priddis, A.Selwood combo Rd 1... i offer my condolences to the season ticket holders.

Thank you for the condolences, if I witness another year of Priddis and Selwood starting together, I'll bring a razor blade to the game.

But the odds favour that D52.

I mean even on here you hear it; "our kids are not ready yet", "Priddis is an elite clearance machine..", "Our kids haven't shown much"....

They buy the Woosh line. That we are better with those guys. We drew with the Cats yesterday for clearances (and lead most of the day). We have looked spectacularly better through the middle with the kids in there (and that includes with NN instead of Cox at centre bounces). Sure, they arent consistent, sure they cant sustain it for 4 quarters ... but that takes time, and they need to get that ahead of Priddis & A Selwood. I am terrified that we might actually have a look at T Selwood now he is out of contract. Woosh could get his dream midfield of slowish past, poorly skilled taggers .... :p

Kerr, Shuey, Stevens, Scooter, Swift, Strijk and Lecca should be running through the midfield before we think about A Selwood or Pridda in there. A Selwood has other strings to the bow, he could play elsewhere... Pridda can't ...

But I agree with you, the most disappointing part of his presser was the comments about those 2 blokes....

Chuck Embley and Rosa in there to boot and you will have something really special brewing. And that is exactly what we are going to get. Unless something happens to make Worsfold change his mind over the pre season. As of right now, if you listen to what he has been saying, that is the plan - all the old crabs in there together is what we are in for. I will try and look for the comedy value in it to make it bearable.

I agree with all of that except the part where you claim that Adam Selwood has some utility someshere on the football field. There is nowhere you can play him where he won't be a non-contributor at best and more likely a liability except Left Right Out. He is every bit as bad as Priddis. At least Priddis gets the ball himself before het turns it over. Selwood has to wait for someone else to win for us and give it to him before he turns it over for us.

And yet we offer Lynch another contract? WTF

The truly deluded part about Woosha blaming the youngsters inexperience is that if not for the numerous injuries to Senior Players, we would not have blooded so many youngsters. These Seniors by the wayvkeep letting him down time after time, but like the stubborn brain defiecient man he is, he still doesn't get it.

I reckon this club still has not learned from the handling of Cousins, no balls to make the hard calls. In that respect the Club and Woosha are perfect soul mates, stubborn and not answerable to anyone.

this was a terrible year, there is no two ways about it. and it was not a year we had to have. 2008 was the year we had to have, 2009 was a vast improvement and 2010 was supposed to be the year we pushed back up the ladder, but instead it's all ended in tears.

our midfield is very slow and reliant on servicable players. Adam Selwood is a solid enough player but he is not a creative midfielder. Matt Priddis is a solid player who gets plenty of the ball but isn't near damaging enough, and we need to mould a guy like Shuey or Ebert to be taking over that role. The fact that Priddo is going to finish so high in our best and fairest, and possbily win says it all.

Andrew Embley needs a serious kick up the bum. At his best, he is a top line player, and is probably one of the best players of his generation not to win an All Australian guernsey but his season was ordinary. He works his guts off, and won plenty of the ball but too often made very poor decisions and showed some terribel decision making.

Unfortunately these are our three leading players in the midfield - which is where the match is won.

It really hurt that Shuey's injury was so prolonged and also the club was being very conservative with Koby Stevens. These two are really promising footballers.

The other thing that is going to hurt our list management. we don't seem to have too many players coming off out of contract at the end of the year and guys like Hansen and (??) Nicoski have been signed to 2-3 years deals for soem crazy reason.

Added that on our rookie list one would think we could make as many as four promotions - Hams, Wilson, Stevenson and Strijk have all warranted positions on the senior list far more than the likes of Lynch, Hansen, Nico, Dalziell, Spangher and several others have.

then to see an article written during the week where Woosha has said our number four picks could be up for grabs is just mind blowing. Obviously everyone and every pick has its price, but it would want to be something very nice for pick four, which should land us either Sam Day or Jack Darling.

I'd say the most promising news was that someone high up at the club was chasing Neeld, the mid coach from Collingwood and sending a signal to Worsfold that his old style plans won't be tolerated.

Nothing like real job pressure to cure a stubborn coach. Even Malthouse was forced to go out and get a real ruckman when he saw the end coming.

Every day, AFL gets closer to 'total football' where players must be capable in more than one role so as not to become a weak link. If fans cannot see this, they probably just have an underdog fetish and see a little of themselves in the limited hack that's mixing it with the big boys lol.
