AA after Round 7

Selwood hasn't been disappointing. Has been just about best on in the last 2 weeks. He's young and obviously wasn't afforded the a full pre season.
He is getting back to his best, easily beat the Brett Kirk tag on Sunday, but so far he's not in AA form. James Kelly and Jimmy Bartel are both ahead of him at this stage. In fact, I'd say Kelly has been our third best mid this year behind Ablett and Chapman.

Did you forget Hodge?
He's a lock for AA at this point.
You're gonna call me biased but from what I've seen Hodge's season has been overrated. He has played well but he's had very little impact on his team, hasn't lifted them to any victories, and has suffered under hard tags in the midfield. It's left field but I'd rather take a guy like David Rodan who seems to actually have an effect on his team every time he gets the ball.

And last point, Natanui will be a great player but he is currently the most overrated player in the AFL right now. Does the amazing but other times his influence is literally non-existent. He barely fired a shot at the Derby for example.
Come on, he is great for a guy of his experience, I think he's showing a lot more this year than most would have expected. Ridiculous to say he is the most overrated player in the AFL, his performances this year have been very consistent, had a couple of poor games against Sydney and Fremantle.

He might not have fired a shot in the derby, but harsh to have a go at him for one game. Stephen Hill was barely sighted either, but has still had a really good season.

Not sure why people are obsessed with talking youngsters down, but especially ones who are actually performing well.

I think Frawley from Melbourne has been really, really good, and a couple of mature aged players in their first seasons in Podsiadly and Barlow have been surprise packages, which has been terrrific. It's very tough to break into the AA team though in your first real breakout season though. Normally it takes most players a few seasons to grab the attention of the selectors. Josh Kennedy is having a breakout year as well.

I think Betts has been good up forward for Carlton, and O'hAilpin. Hodge is doing it really tough at Hawthorn with little support.

In recent years it seems the AA team has been ever more skewed than normal towards the top teams, will be interesting to see how they rate Collingwood players in the AA team, as shown again this year they have an amazingly even team without a lot of standouts, but players like Swan, Shaw, Didak and O'Brian would have to be at least in calculations at this stage. Leon Davis has been a bit disappointing.

Fletcher surely must be too old to be performing the way he is, the AFL should invesitgate his birth certificate.

I haven't watched anywhere close to all the games in recent weeks

FB -- -- --
HB -- Tarrant --
C -- Judd - Hill
HF -- Pavlich --
FF -- Brown --

RR Naita Ablett --

IC - Sandilands, O'Keefe

Edited for accuracy, Sandilands back to warming the bench. Na he has been great, AA ruck for sure. Jamar bench at this stage. Seriously though Naita is top 10 in the coaches award with some pretty good company.... and has snagged a couple of team of the weeks.

38 Aaron Sandilands (Fre)
37 Matthew Pavlich (Fre)
33 Gary Ablett (Geel)
30 Luke Hodge (Haw)
28 Daniel Bradshaw (Syd)
28 Ryan Griffen (WB)
28 Dane Swan (Coll)
27 Jonathan Brown (BL)
25 Chris Judd (Carl)
23 Nic Naitanui (WC)

Lake and Harbrow would surely have to be in contention. They've been our shining lights in defence so far compared to players like Hargrave who is having a disgusting season so far.

And lol at those saying Naitanui should be ahead of Sandilands... LMFAO actually. That's just so unbelievably stupid. Sandilands has been one of the most consistant players in the comp this year and he influences games more than most midfielders. He's in Brownlow contention and barring injury, has the #1 ruck spot sealed up.

by the end of the season i expect the following to be in the team
- S.Pendlebury
- M.Murphy

7 Goals concieded so far this year and 3 came from the one game. Chris Tarrant is the best Full Back so far this year.

Only 1 less than Lake (And 6 of those came in 2 games) minus contested marks and rebound. There have been a number of good performances from full backs this year, too wide open at moment.
