Hmm should've already put this one to bed Freo. Little would surprise after last week's lost, but failure to hold on to a Q4 lead v Carlton would certainly put that to the test.

How annoying if this Fremantle team makes the top 8 instead of say St Kilda with a newly returned Georgia Patrikios. Or Melbourne with the likes of Purcell and Zanker back. Teams that could actually be interesting to watch in finals rather than guaranteed easy beats.

People say there's no depth in this league but there must be heaps if Eliza West can't get a game in Melbourne's midfield and deemed surplus to requirements during the off-season. Frontrunner for Hawks BnF.

Real midfield bull too.
I think a few teams have gone the way of the mens game and get spooked by short playera

Pretty impressive she gets voted in as VC after a month or two training at the Hawks.
Reckon she might enjoy the opportunity to end Melbourne’s season in a cpl of weeks.

What's interesting about it? How does this even work? How are you generating extras in front of the ball? If you push numbers forward, won't the opposition just defend them?
I took it more as promoting risk taking in their coaching.

Have players flying through the contest instead of parking an extra deep in defence. There’s a myriad of reasons AFLW is experiencing somewhat of a plateau, and the coaches need to play their part in enabling and encouraging more exciting football.

Friday night was a stalemate where the dogs dropped 2 behind the ball and essendon were happy to leave it so they also had 2 behind the ball. Man up the 2 and make it 8 vs 8, shuffle things around, put your extras at the stoppage, try something different

Pretty bananas from Garner.
Kennedy isnt a shabby tagger.
Making her look like Cale Morton out there.

Fiiiinally a goal for Vikki Wall, and it comes unsurprisingly from a Sydney turnover, not a pass from a NM teammate with the way they always see through her like a ghost.

North Hobart is small.

I am nowhere near knowledgeable enough about AFLW but wonder if there is a correlation.
Correlation between it being a below-average scoring ground and a below-average sized-ground? Maybe, but too many other factors (such as weather, coaching, fixture details, etc.) to be sure.

Trying to envision a scenario where Jesse Wardlaw isn't All-Australian this year. It would take at least a couple of total morons on the selection panel.

Well, there are around six or seven tall forwards equal or ahead of her in the goal scoring list before the start of the round that may have a say in who gets in the AA.

Yeah stuff like that where selectors can't properly access correct stats, or don't know what constitutes a tall forward, could have an impact.

Melbourne is working their way back into finals contention and could be a real darkhorse if they can hold on against the Saints.

Their next two games are against Richmond and Hawthorn and could have huge ramifications for the top 4 and top 8.

Well, that's just dumb, why wouldn't the selectors be able to access the correct stats, they'd have access to lot more than the general public.

She is taller than Smith, Moloney and McDonagh and they are all over 180cms, so it would be hard to constitute them as anything other than a tall forward.

BTW, I'm not saying she won't deserve an AA selection, but there are other players who would also deserve an AA selection at this stage of the season.

I don't know, maybe they consult the AFL stats leaders page without realising it doesn't update during a game.

If they had waited for it to update to include the current game, they'd find Wardlaw is now outright 3rd in the league goalkicking, having taken as many contested marks as Taylor Smith and Aishling Moloney combined.

North Melbourne is the first team to officially qualify for the finals.

Percentage probably guarantees Brisbane and Hawthorn also. It's highly unlikely (a one in a million chance) but you never know they may lose three in a row and drop 100 percentage points and fall out of the eight by percentage. :p
