Any crime they take your DNA for and you get charged. Even 3rd DUI and some traffic offencesIsn't DNA kept on file only for those with a previous conviction for a serious crime? Known to police can just mean petty offenses & minor crimes.

Yes, you are correct. They will only need his DNA on the girl or her clothes. They know he lives there. And they will esp be looking for semen samples on the girl or her bedding etc, in case they find signs of sexual assault.yeah fair enough, but if it is his house and they find dna on anything that belongs to him, i'm not sure what that proves given it is his house, its not a crime to have a toss in your own home, and I am not sure technology is good enough to pick up age of dna?. But I guess its all part of the bigger picture
that makes more sense, potentially sand, seeds or anything else that may have put him in the vicinity of the campsiteFootprints?

The man in police custody on Wednesday was a familiar sight to neighbours approached by The Australian, though they said he hardly talked. They recalled frequently seeing him walking around the neighbourhood until he recently got a car. He had done some work in Carnarvon with Real Futures, a local work-for-the-dole program.'
'He is from a large Aboriginal family. Amid serious concerns of community tensions in coming days, extra police were flown in to Carnarvon on Wednesday.
Mr Dawson held a crisis meeting with about 20 Aboriginal elders, asking them to ignore hurtful or inflammatory comments on social media. Mr Dawson also asked the elders to encourage younger people not to respond to any goading or racism in the wake of the arrest. A senior Aboriginal woman, Gillian Snowball, was moved to tears when she told the meeting she had known the man in custody since he was a toddler.
“It’s a disgrace today, I feel ashamed,” she said. “I don’t want to walk down the street or go to the shops now.”
During the investigation, locals came to believe police had a footprint from the family’s campsite that they considered highly significant.
Police contacted people whose mobile phones had been detected in the area on October 15 and 16 and questioned them about their shoes.
One woman questioned twice told The Australian: “They said it was a random questionnaire but it was an interrogation because my phone was in the area and I didn’t mind because they have to be thorough. They wanted to know what size my shoes are and what kind of shoes I have.”'
DNA can be requested to be destroyed if no conviction, or charges are dropped.Even if the charges are dropped or no conviction is recorded?
Havent heard of DNA being taken for traffic offenses.
Well done Channel 7.

Bit early to say he didnt harm her. They havnt even tested things at the lab yet. They havnt interviewed the girl or the offender yet either.
Gotta jump thru a heap of hoops before they can question him, as hes an aboriginal and u now have to have all sorts of legal council involved.
Surely the Police can come out and say the guy named in the ch7 article is not the guy in custody?
Civil suit incomingWell done Channel 7.

Channel 7 gotta pay the price for being "first"
Cool them down anywaywhen this has happened in the past they have been hit with a wet lettuce. Thats why they do it. They don't care.
I’m actually thinking by looking at his rumoured Facebook activity that he may be using several accounts for talking to children. The cops should examine any computers he may have. Mind you I reckon it possible that he may have disposed of them in the last few weeks.any maybe he has been using the guise of the Bratz and Frozen dolls to lurk on parents (any parent not just Ellie/Jake) Facebook sites using false identity. And maybe when he has done this he has offered to sell Bratz and Frozen doll merchandise to parents, and that means he would find the actual addresses of people he wished to stalk and then the rest is history. Is this a guise being used by pedos through Facebook and other social media sites like TikTok Instagram Ebay etc etc etc?
This arrest is the tip of the iceberg!
Channel 7 gotta pay the price for being "first"
As soon as she was found, and the Aboriginal neighbours were interviewed, it dawned on me that the kidnapper was likely to be Aboriginal. I'm so sorry for the Aboriginal community, there were always going to be disgusting anonymous pieces of work taking it out on them. Truly shameful.Footprints?

I'd like no more pictures of Cleo to be published. It's bad for her and her family. But media being media...Smiling Cleo clings to mum on first day of freedom

But their might be others around him that might be (even if only geographically living), and take the opportunity to abuse/assault things he might collect. Also I’m not certain that his interest was sexual

Note the inability to understand that initially the offender had his head (and bandage) visible before having his face covered by the blanket.. thus giving opportunities for photos to be taken of him both visible and covered..Note the photoshopping of the pic of the man in the ambulance - in the original an officer was holding up a blanket almost completely hiding the man in the bed. Now he is quite visible and has a Big White Bandage.
Shoddy but typical "journalism".
Possibly. I’m sure that will be investigated but so far there is no evidence of this. It’s likely that he was a loner. But their might be others around him that might be (even if only geographically living), and take the opportunity to abuse/assault things he might collect.
Particularly with him leaving living dolls in the home alone in the dark of night, like he did with Cleo.
If you can't see that the photo is very badly photoshopped and the bandage brightened and enhanced to the size of a turban and the blanket the officer is holding is a very strange shape then the inability is misplaced.2

I was more thinking of what could have happened in a situation like this (but probably didn't),Possibly. I’m sure that will be investigated but so far there is no evidence of this. It’s likely that he was a loner.
I assume that he was a self-loather and didn’t want to associate with the indigenous community.
When I was threatened with a spearing from an aboriginal in a community I was teaching in I, I had to leave very quickly and returned about a week later when things had calmed down. I hope this Terrance Flowers is safe, channel 7 should be paying for him and his family to get out of there and then after that he should sue them and take them to the cleaners.
