A detailed presentation might confuse and frighten the crayon-eaters at AFL House, would he have been more successful if he presented it on a napkin?
It’s just as likely that they will be looking to shut the conversation down, last thing they need is people outside of Victoria speaking sense and highlighting glaring inequality. To be quite honest, I’m surprised it’s receieved as much media coverage as it has.

The hosts on Mid Week Tackle tonight were suggesting that Kalani White may choose us over the Dees next year. Not sure if they're adding to the pile on to push the anti-northern academy narrative or if they actually have mail on Kalani's preference. They also said the AFL is considering introducing a rule that inhibits father-son prospects from being a part of any northern academy program.

Exactly what they were doing......they also had a cry about how unlucky Melb. was to miss out on Harley Reid.....

Michael Voss warns the AFL its recruitment strategy is at risk, Suns want loosened restrictions on drafting academy players

Michael Voss admits he’s confused that the AFL are making changes to this year’s draft that will put their recruitment strategy at risk. Plus more on the Suns’ stance to make it easier to draft academy players.

Gold Coast will tell the AFL it should lessen its restrictions on heartland clubs bidding for next generation academy talent rather than make it harder for northern-states clubs to secure its future wave of stars.
And Carlton coach Michael Voss has warned the AFL its recruitment of the Camporeale twins is at risk if the league makes the “confusing” decision to change its points system ahead of the 2024 national draft.

The Herald Sun on Saturday reported AFL clubs were bracing for the league to make changes to its bidding system for November’s national draft.

So the AFL is thinking of eroding the motivation the Northern academies have to continue to invest in junior development and talent identification in the northern zones by making it harder to keep the talent they identify and develop! Pure (evil) genius!

Does anybody have an update on how he went this year in the U18s. Didn't see his name mentioned at all in dispatches.
  • Allies v South Australia - 6 disposals, 1 mark
  • Allies v Western Australia - Not selected
  • Allies v Vic Metro - Not selected
  • Allies v Vic Country - To be determined
Not exactly setting the world on fire at the top level. Would need to drastically improve from here to be considered draft worthy, but I think the Dees would draft him regardless. Bit like Tex Wanganeen at Essendon who has proven he's really not up to the standard but the Bombers were desperate to get a feel good father-son story from one of their club legends.

Thanks for that. It was as I suspected and probably why he seems keener on Demons. If he can't get a gig in the Suns U18, he hasn't really got an option. If he gets a spot in the Vic Country game - it'll be a crucial game for him I guess.

Can’t believe Lachie Gulbin wasn’t in the squad given some of the names who were

Kevin Sheehan had him top 75 in the country

Really hope we draft him with a later pick. Hit the scoreboard a few times in the vfl today as a half forward/wing type
