I think you've misread that comment. I take it that he means that accidents shouldn't rub out people, not that the incident being found to be worthy of a suspension means he's a sniper.

I thought that's what he meant at first too but I'm pretty sure he was defending the suspension by saying "well if it was an accident he wouldn't have been ruled out right?".

Under the current system accidental head clashes are still an offence, if you could reasonably foresee it. Even though it's not being enforced anymore. That to me, coupled with the fact they are going to overhaul the MRP so that it is only serious offences that get suspensions (with fines for more offences), implies to me that he meant it shouldn't be a suspendable offence. I like bashing AFL House as much as anyone, but I actually think this time he is saying that the decision is right but the rules are flawed without coming out and saying as much.

Back then, I did say that I hoped that fyfe challenged the charge in the tribunal. It was a free hit anyway given that it's just carry over points at stake. To be fair, given the way the rules are written it was pretty clear and hard to argue the case, but i thought at least it registered that we are unhappy with the charge and Fyfe did not admit to any wrong doing.

Given the way things are now, I'll rather fyfe just focus on what he do best which is to win matches and indirectly rub it in AFL's face further. The bias idiot can go sort out their own mess

Fair enough, here's another good article summarising it all.

Current situation:

Phantom Brownlow Medal has him on 21 before last round, just 2 behind JPK.

Blindside sport has him on 17 and a fair way back:

But they are giving Buddy 21 votes thus far - find it very hard to see that happening.

Brownlow Tracker has him as a clear leader on 25. JPK is next 3 votes behind (ignoring Ablett who is 2 behind)

And of course, he is still miles clear in the AFLCA award.
