That is not the question you should ask! If you rate McLean so much higher than Coons then what has McLean done to be so far ahead of Cooney?
But in respect to your question
Mclean has played a couple of decent games nothing more, hes also injury prone.
While Cooney without a pre-season still manages to have a patch of 5 games during the middle of the season where he dominates. Give the KID a full pre-season and then judge him

Cooney is a Ken Judge type at best. Handy flanker in a good team.

There is no way adcock is as good as mclean, people get a little carried away about adcock i think
nah, the ability to play up forward, back or midfield is great. He can dominate in all positions. He is a better footballer then McLean and Cooney.

McLean is a much better midfielder than Adcock and I'd take that over Adcock's versitility.
He had an average year due to injuries. Watch McLean rip it up next year.

Theres been a hell of a lot of crap written here bout Cooney. Im supposed to believe Cooney isn't half the player of Adcock depsite Adcock having his best season in 07 and still getting less of the ball and far less goals. Sure stats ain't everything and there different players but why does Cooney get rated so harshly???? McLean struggled this year and the only newsworthy thing he did of note was get in trouble overseas
Cooney gets over 20 touches a game, runs with the ball, takes players on and over the last 2 years hes kicked more goals than any other midfielder. He kicked 28 this year, kicked 30 last year. How is that bad????
If Cooney was picked number 21 instead of one people would rave on about him. His output over his career has been the best from his draft
