It probably helped that the game of league is a front on collision style game so there shouldn't be a reason to be behind your opponent.Well, I was an adult in the 70's and it put me off watching Aussie rules as it just seemed like a sport wjere the best players hot whacked and taken out. While leaue was barbaric back then they were men who would front up to a fight, night hide and hit you from behind like a dope fiend stealing your wallet
Possibly as hodge only did it the once; maybe there wasn't a hegu media response at time so the incident not well remembered. Genuinely interested in footage if available. So now three Hawks fans in this thread can apparently rattle off years of similar indiscretions like this from Goodes yet need to ask about more information about Hodge tripping Lappin.

This was already said earlier in the thread, a one-off incident and never repeated since, but people like Bollox and Shotties aren't particularly concerned about common sense. Goodes has rightfully been questioned over his style of play, but their defence is to go on the attack and turn this into war between Sydney and Hawthorn - you sledge our champ, we'll sledge yours - pure muppetry...
Actually Chewy I've responded to you multiple times on points you've raised but as always you pick and choose your responses. This was already said earlier in the thread, a one-off incident and never repeated since, but people like Bollox and Shotties aren't particularly concerned about common sense.
