Hunter goes alright but Pav is a 4 time all Australian. And I've never seen him hit another player in the balls.

Usually the best 2 defenders, sometimes even the best 3 defenders. Finals or not, I would like to see Hunter do what Pav does (this year he's kicked 67 goals and taken the 5th most contested marks in the comp) with 2-3 defenders on him every, single week. I am not meaning that as disrespect for Hunter, I just seriously can't see him being anywhere near as effective under those circumstances.

But that is an unfair role to ask of Hunter who at 86 kg is more a medium tall (like a Russell Robertson) so his role, if he played as a permanent forward would not be as a stand alone power CHF like Pavlich who is 98 kgs.

Meh, Hunter is a good pinch-hitter for us and a very handy backman. He also plays very well on the big stage. Has done more than Pavlich in finals. A lot more. But Pavlich is a key forwad, and you can't really compare them. I wouldn't say no if Pavlich wanted to come and play for us.

192cm, 98kgs (big bugga!!), 4xAA, 2xBF (classy bugga!!).... and still only 24 years old.

But fair enough on your call on Hunter... but isn't that why he bobs up and does some good stuff in finals for example? Defenders are busy on Lynch and Hansen and up jumps Hunter... Whereas in our team, for the defenders, it's Pav all the way. Which is why the comparison is just so wrong.

Don't get me wrong - apart from the fact he has a face like a rat and a seriously bad hairdo, and he punches blokes in the nuts - I think he's a good player. Just nowhere near the same level as Pav, and to compare them is unfair.

The facts;

Pavlich: Four time all-australian, two time Fremantle leading goalkicker, All Australian CHF, all time Fremantle leading goalkicker, two time Fremantle B&F. Star CHF who regularly attracts two of the opponents best defenders in an attempt to nullify him.

Hunter: Handy CHB who can pinch hit up forward, but is yet to regularly play on decent backmen. Good for 20-30 goals a year. Great pack mark.

Those are the facts, Pavlich >>> Hunter.

Correct, although I'd say he's more than handy as a CHB. Hunter's biggest assett is his tank which allows him to run off the Grants off the AFL

It's pretty clear though, Hunter's a very good player, Pavlich is a champ.

Not so. My thread concerning arrogance was seen from a neutral position. Living in Victoria, the angst between Freo and West Coast is not as prominent and even though I go for Fremantle I don't resent West Coast like most. I just believe Hunter acted very arrogantly on that occassion and I saw him in a darker light. I thought it was quite ironic that O'Loughlin kicked the sealer.

That was probably because of the treatment O'Loughin gave him in the pack on the ground. And before all the Swans fans jump on me I'm not saying he was eye gouging, or should have been suspended, but it was the kind of thing that would fire you up a bit...

dunno, mcpharlin and johnson have been playing damn well lately, at their form has been pretty consistent. Although i may have a little bias.

I know I'd take Hunter over Johnson any day of the week. Johnson is becoming a good player, but I wouldn't trade Hunter for him. I wouldn't trade Hunter for Mcpharlin either. Pav? Yeah he'd definitely be welcome in blue and gold.
