After building this list I don’t think John Longmire is going anywhere anytime soon. I’d be calling Coxy and asking him if he wants to start next year or the year after.

Jarrod schofield has won three wafl flags as a senior coach. Cox and Schofield has similarities but Schofield had shown he can be the top dog rather then line coach. Based on resume Jarrod Schofield is slightly superior and that's with assuming Sydney with the flag

Itll be whether we want a completely fresh face or not.
Id tend to favour the guy from a different environment

Other than Ken Judge, one thing WCE can never be criticised on is coaching appointments. Everyone else since Malthouse was appointed for 1990 has won a flag, and I’ll back us in to make the right call again.

Coxy always had a good footy brain, has done an apprenticeship in a fantastic culture and system and would be cherry ripe to come home and take over. Schofield and Graham would be two without AFL senior coaching experience (bar Graham’s one game) you’d think would be a chance too.

Plenty of good options for a senior coach, it’ll be interesting to watch how it plays out, very happy that Don Pyke is in charge now as he brings such a wealth of experience from interstate clubs and a fresh perspective.

That footage of simmo telling off Maric for kicking forward with 30 seconds to go is disgraceful. Then coincidentally subbing him off when he was having a decent game.

Simpson won't change his game style...it's all he knows.
Need someone new to change the mindset and move forward.

Zip it!

No, let the rants entertain you 😊

Good coaching today, the moves of Brockman and Ryan to the midfield worked, got the group refocused at half time with a better defensive action in the third. The tall forward line worked, all of the keys had numerous shots on goal and impacted. Poor conversion was costly.

Unfortunately however, it was still a loss. May need a couple of wins and or consistent application (no more blowouts) in the remainder otherwise the change may be taking place at seasons end.

Didnt look like he was mad or anything, its something a young player needs to learn.
More than likely Maric was fatigued from his first game on the wing, they have all the stats available. Why would they wait until a few minutes left to sub off a guy who wasnt performing? More than likely they just picked the most similar player to Hutch who needed the rest

I also think for what we are, we did well.
We will also rise quicker than most expect.
People who provide no input except negativity piss me off though.

Needs.to.learn.to.not.attack

That's exactly what he doesn't need to learn.
Sick and tired of simmo trying to curb the natural of instincts of footballers for his slow, tired kick backwards game plan.

I have asked you before but no answer, surprise surprise.
Tell us about your game plan and how you would go about it, and not" play the kids"
I am all ears..

Well in that particular case that I'm referring to smart arse he did the right thing. He passed and assessed his options and then kicked long to the forward line to see if we could get a mark for a late goal.

Simpson has 1 game plan and that is slow painful football. Watch the top teams play and you will see a much more attacking game plan.
Don't allow the opposition to flood the defence or man up when we have the ball.
Simpsons standard is kick to kick around the back line which has given up goals after turnovers like happened today.

Even watch the bombers today and you saw how many goals they scored off their defence.

It's not rocket science you Muppet. It's very simple so I'm not sure what gotcha moment you're looking for.

That's my Man😁Way to go again to avoid the question.
And thanks, I haven't been "Muppet'ed for a long time.

I don't know why Simmo hasn't figured out that the forward pressure, midfield defensive pressure, forward presentation and forward entries are shocking. Part of that is personnel. Part of it is "game plan". Part of it execution. Part of it is luck.

The parts Simmo controls are the personnel and "game plan". And to an extent execution but that derives from training the "game plan".

I've said for a long time, first or second game of the season, on here that we should be going with a smaller forward line, moving the ball at angles quickly avoiding the opposition key defenders. If we go with mostly smaller forwards who are more mobile we can achieve this more effectively and this will also give us more chance of locking the ball in our 50 with quicker players moving across the forward line and more likely avoiding intercept possessions being bounced back down the other end on turnovers.

Midfield Defensively we need to stop rotating onto the player with the ball (if we're zone defense) and instead rotate onto the player that's the next possible target. This will make a massive difference in halting quick transition by oppo teams, give our actual defenders more of a chance of setting up effectively and not forcing them having to rotate off their oppo forward to push up the ground and get caught out between their player and the oppo midfielder... in no mans land. This is probably 100% on the coach instructing them to rotate onto the player with the ball, because they ALL do it. And if it's because the players are refusing to do it, or not inspired to do it then he's lost the players.

I'm too tired to go into more detail, need to sleep 😴
