what are the odds, are there stats for every minute of games? The data may help explain it, or demonstrate it is quite random. How do you explain a hamstring going in the first 10 minutes of a match?

Very difficult to know, didn't warm up as he should? Unlucky? No idea to be honest.
I hope they check the heritage firstI heard that Ben Wyatt approached the cheer squad after the game on Sunday and mentioned that the club will be doing a review of the surface at Lathlain Park believing it may be impacting player welfare.
ABOUT TIME TREV.
I think I saw Simmo has guaranteed Gaff straight back into the 22 next week?
He played okay on the weekend but this was always worst case scenario. You just know he and Sheed and the rest of the credits crew will be there R1 next year, no questions asked.
I would have dropped Gaff ages ago, but I suspect it's more about not pushing the kids too hard, too early, rather than his credits in the bank scheme.I think I saw Simmo has guaranteed Gaff straight back into the 22 next week?

What does not push the kids to hard mean? They are 18 year old young men raring to go with all the energy anyone could dream of. They will be going hard as hell all the time naturally.
Maybe if we stopped treating them like 12 year old kids they would develop much quicker and be the player we actually thought we drafted. The sooner young players get the hang of it the better, no point holding them back in any way shape or form.
You're way off the mark here. Have a look at the careers of players like Swallow, Rowell and O'meara. These guys had bodies of grown mem when they started and were thrown straight into and have had most of their careers so far dramatically slowed by niggling injuries. Much the same Cripps and Walsh, throw them in too much too early and the wear and tear adds up due to that early exposure.
That's a good point, Gaff and Darling coped alright. So did Selwood from Geelong. That is just guessing, for every player you named you could name the opposite of ones who go straight in with no issues. You reckon Rowell wouldn't of done a knee if he had only half trained that week and only played 30 minutes of the game?
Every player is of course different but putting them all in the same pot is ridiculous. Some are far more ready than others. Just generally saying we need to be careful with the kids makes the AFL sound like a kindergarton.
Go do another woke dance on your tick tock you snowflakeGaff was sub so much he got the nickname Kermit.
Darling is and has always been a bit of a freak with his recuperating powers and was almost fully grown when drafted.
18-19 year old kid's bodies are still growing and subjecting them to wear and tear early and thinking that it's unlikely to have an effect down the track is a bit naive. When you have the chance to ease them into their possible 15 years of getting hammered by taking it easy for the first year or so why wouldn't you?
Sure it's not the same for every player - of course there will be exceptions, but the cost of finding out if they are up for it early surely isn't worth the risk.
I look forward to some sort of "snowflake woke generation" type reply.

All very durable players. Problem is, and it is what GWS is ignoring, most 18 year-olds are still in a growth phase so are more prone to injury when the loads in AFL are applied without restriction. Its not a matter of how much energy they have, the majority of young players will still have growth plate, ligament and tendon issues if they are pushed too hard at the extreme levels of AFL without proper management as their bodies are not fully developed and able to cope with the loads week in week out. That's a good point, Gaff and Darling coped alright. So did Selwood from Geelong.
