I am just glad the announcement has come so promptly after seasons end.
It’s will be interesting to see how Simpson realigns going forward, because if he doesn’t its not going to translate any differently on field.
As you rightfully say the credits policy must be the FIRST thing that he jettisons.
I am not convinced that he has a game plan to make it back to the top contender ranks….time will tell.
For a Board that’s been so indecisive and wishy washy, thankfully they have come out early with their announcement.
Clearly it’s not going to thrill all supporters but the decision has been made, so we best just get on with supporting the Club we all hold dear to our hearts.
As for the media and their not so subtle hit man antics on Simpson
…….. can I say on behalf of all EAGLES fans …. A big

Expect the thread to continue on through the off-season, certainly not at a frequent rate as now. Will be getting bumped in the first practice match/preseason game for sure!

The idea is sound if all the assistants are cleaned out.. knights said last week he has a contract for next year so maybe they will spend the cap money paying him out and pouring money into other areas..
Also anyone in the football department who has been there since before 2018 should be out as their credits have long run out.. see ya Nicoski and the like who apparently work in development where there has been none.

The right call for now. I’m sure he (Simpson) will be under no illusions as to the pressure that will be on next year, not so much wins and losses, but overall competitiveness, game style, etc etc.
Hoping and expecting substantial change off-field elsewhere in the coming weeks and months.
Hopefully Simmo gets a decent break and comes back refreshed and ready. He’s going to need it

Forget Cornes, Hairy Gary has just blown a gasket and wanted to know if he was gone two weeks ago surely the board is not that stupid and arrogant to think that a win over the bulldogs and 6 goal loss to the crows means he is a coaching genius all of a sudden.
Hopefully as suggested we aren’t 0-8 next year because if we are the joint will implode under the pressure it will be under
Well, Robbo is a tosser.
The correct decision has been made though.
We've held on to an experienced and clearly committed coach, who is overseeing a rebuild. Simmo could have skated when WC started to dip, but he didn't. Very happy he has been retained.
