There is no sane football reason why Treloar would leave GWS, it would be only an insane financial which the Giants couldn't match, which would see him leave.

Very confident Treloar is staying, the pressure would be too much to be a big money messiah type signing at Richmond or Collingwood (IMHO)

Maybe he would like to play in front of more than 40 people;)

If that was the case, how come Collingwood haven't signed any huge names in the past 10 years, aside from Luke Ball.

It probably isn't a factor, but part of me wonders if young stars are put off from joining Collingwood after Buckley's controversial move from Brisbane.

Its hard to see The Pies or Tigers or North putting together an attractive package for GWS to accept. Their MO seems to be trading for early draft picks or established star ayers, father than a Ben Kennedy or Lennon type young prospect, which is what I suspect the Pies and Tigers would offer in addition to their late first round draft picks (which wouldn't come close to sealing the deal for Treloar)

Carlton had to give up pick 7 for Jaksch, GWS aren't mugs or pushovers at the trade table mate.

Telling half the story with Jacksch aren't you? Carlton sent pick 7 to GWS for Jaksch, Whiley and Pick 19.

Will be hard for them to put together a deal, but where there is a will there is a way. I wouldn't be surprised if Richmond shopped around a KP type and say pick 14 to another side looking for a key forward in exchange for a lower pick, which they could then use in the Treloar deal.

If i was GWS, I'd be pushing for Corey Ellis and Richmond's 1st rounder, which if not breaking even, is possibly Richmond paying overs.

The Tiges have built a solid list now, you must be careful not to sell the farm for Treloar, frankly I think you're better off going for a Motlop or Yarran type, who would be much cheaper to acquire.

Yeah I really rate Corey Ellis, but Treloar is a bonafide jet in the right age bracket so probably just depends.

Agree I just think we need to add some talent in that 23-26 bracket so we can have a go over the next 3-5 years.

Plus Witts is worth about the same on the trade table as Treloar anyway.

That whole Buckley thing is really clutching at straws. Anyway once Treloar has made his choice of which club he wants to go to (if indeed he does want to leave), then I am pretty sure that club and GWS will come to an agreement. It isn't about who can offer the most, as the player must agree to the trade also.
Brisbane and Collingwood worked out a deal for Beams, so I am pretty sure GWS and the club in question, can and will work out a deal also.
Players usually find a way of getting to the club of their choice.

As North have been mentioned here, what would it honestly take from North to get him?
With respect. One hell of a bank cheque.

Kangas appear to be falling into their rebuild so its only dollars that would convince him. And with other better positioned clubs probably offering the same amount........

Yeah fair call. After the weekend, going from GWS to North is like chocolates to boiled lollies at the minute.

I heard on the radio today on SEN con't remember who said it but possibly David King that Shiel and Treoar were offered the exact same deal. That deal apparently still on the table for Treloar.

Says a lot about Shiel. Likely offered more than Treloar has from VIC clubs, has his girlfriend living in Melbourne (and her father an assistant coach at a rival club) and still stays loyal to GWS.

Agreed. Not sure how a move 20 years ago leaves a player who hadn't even had his first birthday then not wanting to go to a given club.

NM should have made their play for him a couple of weekends ago instead of waiting until now, when the positions were completely reversed! :drunk:

A top 5 pick and steak knives. I just can't see any of the clubs that have been named getting it done. Collingwood and Richmond are not gonna be trading best 22's at this stage so its pointless to mention them. I think he wants a longer deal from us and I think he deserves one.

I agree, Ive said all along that i think he will stay so but if North are in the mix i would obviously love the prospect of having him at Arden street

No way to Cory Ellis.Ben Lennon on the other hand.

I'd love Goldstein but that ain't happening.
What about Brown and your first rounder? We can then trade Brown on to Fremantle for Neale...
Bugger me I'm greedy.

LOL.
Every bloody player is connected with Collingwood.

Every team names a player they're interested in ,one minute later Collingwood come out and want him lol.
That's cos we are the greatest draw card and biggest club in the land.Don't think he will be playing for the Tiges! He will be in B & W.
