Look I know Beams wants out but that doesn't make him a lesser player. He beat Pendlebury & Swan to the B&F in 2012. He missed nearly all of 2013 and when he came back he picked up where he left off. There may be a small number of players over the next 5 years that will give Beams windburn - and maybe even none.
I agree, I'm just looking at the glass half full. It would appear a deal will get done albeit may not be Treloar:(
More likely Greenwood (after pick 25 goes to Norf) we might get Laverde to compliment Moore and maybe something from the Harry deal. I think would be a great result.
Imagine the outfall should Beams be retained, there is potential to destabilise the club.
Any luck we miss out on Varcoe and Hine gets another find.

Potential to destabilise the club you say? If we weren't desatbilised he'd want to stay and we'd have a better list.

I hate the idea of 4+7 for Griffen, but I'm happy to do it for Beams.

Hypothetical deal done. Both clubs leave happy. Now if only the world worked like that...
Its funny my Bulldogs mate thinks this is fair.
Boyd + Pick 4
Griffen + Second Round Pick
Not sure if he realizes Voss doesn't do trading anymore. Not sure what you would think (Most likely think its idiot) but I think its a little over the top. :p

Where are you getting this Treloar wanting to get back to Vic? He has been the most vocal of our guns saying repeatedly that he is very happy in Sydney and wants to be a one club player, be there for the success, etc, etc..

He is the very last of our guns we would shop. Like I suggested earlier, Shiel is an outside chance if players are involved.
Could be a bit of a bloodbath next year if there's any substance to this

Of course you and I both know there is no substance to this garbage reporting. It is certainly possible that we lose quite a few of our best 22 this time next year, or our core group might all sign on for extensions too. This idiot would not have a clue, but he'll keep writing this tripe until then. Why? because people click on the story and that pays his bills.

I said the same thing earlier this year when the rumours of Beams wanting out surfaced

Unfortunately, where there's smoke there's often fire. Will be interesting to follow the contract status of your young guys next year. For your sake I hope there's not a mass exodus...

But for our sake I hope that Treloar requests a trade to us ;)

Nothing personal... :p

Mate, welcome to OUR world. You've been doing it a couple of years....Collingwood's been copping this tripe for a century or so.

The key thing is, where is the smoke coming from? 99.99% of the time it is from those bottom feeders, the player manager/agents. They go out and stoke the fire, get a bidding war going and go back to their young client with the offers hoping they'll go for it. This is where the big bucks are for them. Pickers has set the bar pretty low in the last few years, but made a killing along the way. Feed the clubs and media the right line and convince the blue chip asset to move. Giants can only control the culture, the on ground success and what it can offer in coin. We'll see if that is enough.

Mind re-quoting this in my thread "player managers-discuss"? Its exactly what I've been saying. We need less managers and more responsibility.

I'm a turn coat who jumped off the Blues after a few decades to follow Giants. Been interesting to experience the way significant portions of the Melbourne media have reported us in a negative light. Sydney media haven't caught on that we exist yet, so it is all a bit bizarre. Pies, Blues et al cop journalistic rubbish all the time, but Giants have copped a lot in a short existence. Hey, could be worse guys. We could be Bomber supporters :)

Interesting that Leon Cameron says 99% of them want to stay but admits that 1 will probably want to slip out... How many players are they allowed to have on their list? 100!!!:mad::mad::mad:
Maybe one player's torso will want to return to Victoria while their legs and arms will be set on staying?

Did it take long to wash off a few decades of scum?

The next one to go will be Broomhead imo after this contract or possibly before lots of cryptic comments from DH that give off the impression Broomhead stayed on at the pies by the skin of his teeth and sounds homesick.

Can guarantee you that Tim won't return to Melbourne until the day before training starts up again!

Did they say this convo had happened since the season finished by any chance?

Tim will wear 29 for the rest of his time at Collingwood, however long that ends up being!

etc.

Hope I am wrong or looking too much into it but out of all the players he seems the most likely to request a trade.

A midfield of Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Treloar, Freeman, Sidebottom, Adams, Greenwood and Laverde/Weller in 2016. Nice.

Wow a 2015 off season landing both Dangers and Treloar would require some big trades and a lot of coin. I'd love it but not sure we could snag both. Going to be some serious bidders involved that's for sure.

If he does in fact want to go home next year or whenever it would give us a nice little bargaining chip (maybe along with a 1st rounder) for Dangers or Sloane. If his heart is set on it lets hope he can have a breakout year and push his value right up.
