If he does in fact want to go home next year or whenever it would give us a nice little bargaining chip (maybe along with a 1st rounder) for Dangers or Sloane. If his heart is set on it lets hope he can have a breakout year and push his value right up.
Danger is a free agent next year. No bargaining chips needed, just $$$

Beams gets massively overrated by many because his stats are excellent which I think they make him look a better player than he really is. Whilst he finds a lot of the ball his ball use is average and when under pressure he too often bombs long to forwards without looking. He is only a middle of the road clearance player and furthermore, like a lot of our midfielders, I think the defensive side of his game is below par. As a player what separates him from the pack is his goalkicking ability, however without that he is merely a good average player imo. Luckily for us his stats allow us to paint a picture of a top 10 midfielder in the competition. I'd say he is closer to 20 than 10 and probably dropping.

In short I think as a player he reflects many of the problems that our midfield has had the last few seasons - doesn't work hard enough defensive and not constructive enough when in possession.

Would rather Treloar than Dangerfield, no joke. Will be a star well after Patty is done.

Do a Boyd deal, cheeky 6/7 year deal.

Wow a 2015 off season landing both Dangers and Treloar would require some big trades and a lot of coin. I'd love it but not sure we could snag both. Going to be some serious bidders involved that's for sure.

I expect they'll both land at Hawthorn next year. Sydney would have been in the race but apparently can't trade any more, too drunk on COLA.

I'm a turn coat who jumped off the Blues after a few decades to follow Giants. Been interesting to experience the way significant portions of the Melbourne media have reported us in a negative light. Sydney media haven't caught on that we exist yet, so it is all a bit bizarre. Pies, Blues et al cop journalistic rubbish all the time, but Giants have copped a lot in a short existence. Hey, could be worse guys. We could be Bomber supporters :)

As much as I want to steal Trelaor off you I find it strangely comforting that there is even a GWS Tragic. There's something good for football about it. I think many of us secretly wish you well. You deserve special praise, jumping from an established team of cheating, tanking, corrupt robber barons to a fledgling, underdog franchise with no fans in a football wasteland. I dip my hat to you sir.

Cheers mate. I copped a bit for changing. Some people believe you should stick with your team no matter what. However, when the culture goes bad and doesn't show any signs of changing, well it is time to change. As much as I give it to Pie supporters, gotta admit the club culture is a strong one. You guys have your ups and downs, but I can see why you all stick fat. I really enjoy following the Giants, and hope they can keep building a culture that we can be proud of. Was a great day watching the Giants put the Blues to the sword this season at Spotless!

Got to wonder why they are so unhappy to be Collingwood players and why the fall out continues. Bigger issue, but the fans will continue to make excuses for them leaving and listen to the bullshit reasons they spin.

As apposed to those who scream 'disaster' whenever a player leaves and look for some kind of conspiracy.

All clubs lose players. Doesn't mean each loss is the fault of the club or the individual. These decisions are made for a multitude of reasons. I would suggest Thomas left for the money, to reunite with MM, and possibly some disenchantment with the Club management. I would wager that the dollars spoke loudest. Similarly, Beams probably moved for a number of reasons, but family was the overriding factor.

Stop the conspiracy theories every time someone leaves. People change jobs all the time. doesn't mean the workplace is crap.

We have more ex players playing else where than any other club.

Are there any playing, that last year played the type of footy that would make you still want them at the club? As in you want them not because they played well in our premiership year or when they were playing for us, are they playing well enough right now that you still want them at the club? I would only put Beams, Hertier O and possibly Heater in that list (although he is still having off field issues). Reece Shaw happened years ago so he doesn't count.

Dawes - No
Daisy - No
Wellingham - No
Danny Stanley - Maybe, but he didn't prove himself whilst at Collingwood and still a big maybe.
Ceglar - Quite honestly no, we are backing Witts and Grundy and there should be no regrets there.
Who else is there?

Put some reasoning behind your statements ThatsGold.

The thing I regret about Ceglar is that we should have tried him out in the second ruck role in 2012 instead of persist with Dawes al season long then drop him in the last round when it was already too late.

If you're going to name them name them all. Losing them hasn't improved us has it.

Harry
H.Shaw
R.shaw
Wellingham
Ceglar
Stanley
Thomas
Dawes
Beams
Paine
Scotland
McCarthy (RIP) would still be playing.

I missed Paine, Scotland and McCarthy then and I don't think it really affects my point. So would you want all of them at the club? What is your point?
