Not hard

Senior players peaked that year.

Downhill since but persisted with too long. Tried to get another GF out of them instead of rebuilding, which was slightly understandable. Then poor decisions in over-persisting.

This we know.

Now we’re rebuilding. The club has said so. Has said we need three drafts.

We know this too.

Tonight is disappointing but should not be a huge surprise.

Old players on the way out. Young players need the games. And we’ll see if Nicks was a good choice.

I'm willing to give Jones more time but in the 2018 Draft we needed to do that trade with Freo before Port and cut them off before they weaseled their way up further. Upgrade 6 for 8 + 13. It's a high price yes, but given the quality of what was there it would have been worth it. That would have netted Rozee then one of Duursma/McHenry - I would have taken that.

You cannot play Lynch, Walker, Fogarty together anymore. I’ve been saying it for a year. They are all too similar , no speed or overhead marks and weak laterally. Also Our recruiting team has to go. Chayce and McHenry too small and not natural footballers. And to go for McAsey as yr first pick when you had a top 5 is a massive mistake in modern football. A negating defender at best. Already slow and provides no run needed for modern game. Will only get slower with weight and age.

Well this is....depressing. I guess it is pretty much what we expected though.

The reality is we are in a transition phase. If we get decisions right, we will come out ok. If not we are looking at a Carlton/Melbourne disaster. Unfortunately, I don't think we have the right people in place to make good decisions. Chapman and Roo MUST leave immediately. Roo can take Reid with him. The guy is a disaster.

Coaching-wise it will take Nicks some time and we will need to get some actual proper assistants as our set-up around the ground is U10 like. It's a complete shambles.
Our most experienced players who should be holding the fort while the young guys develop are actually cooked.
Tex is done. It's a shame watching him play.
Sloane keeps trying, but he just can't impact the game.
Tom Lynch is one of the worst field kicks in the game.
Crouch & Crouch are taking the piss. They just don't work hard enough.
Laird is good but still selfish. Stat pads with little care for what happens in the game.

We really need to get a hard edge in the club. Too much corporate back slapping and not enough wanting to really push for change and actual success.
