The ring mics were turned way up for the chair shot. It sounded way less impactful live in the arena. Made it sound like a gun shot when it gave way almost immediately

Didn't look shit on the broadcast - certainly had you biting and insulting others, so I'd say that's mission accomplished as far as selling it 😅

The way they shot it got me. I thought the shooting meant "we don't really want to show this, it's ****ing dumb and unnecessary."

Turns out what it meant was "we don't want to show this, it's a bit hokey."

If you're going to do that spot, don't do a weird jolt/cut/pan out - you need to shoot it really close and tight from behind Hangman. We didn't need to see the impact - the spot was about Swerve laughing in his face, and it was about the sound of the impact.

If the chair is real, it's an impact we don't need to see; if the chair is fake, it's an impact they shouldn't be showing. (And I mean the actual point of impact.)

That's probably the actual criticism having seen that angle from the crowd... like when Jericho fell off the cage onto a bunch of cardboard boxes, the spot itself is fine/good/whatever, it's the way you shoot it that makes all the difference.

I still really hate the spot, just for different reasons than I initially thought.

I'm just glad I don't need to hand in my engineering degree 😂

I like the BF wrestling board.

One day I'm a physics expert, the next I'm an expert in tv production.

Another hugely enjoyable show and deserves all the accolades it's receiving.

Not a great night for the babyfaces, with the lack of feelgood moments compared to Wembley, but this show had a much darker theme, that escalated as the night went on.

Nice to see Garcia get some measure of satisfaction even though he lost. Will need to step up with some big names missing for a while.

Ospreay v Pac easily match of the night. Couldn't believe some of the stuff they were nailing.

Statlander v Nightingale was a pleasant surprise and delivered big time.

I think it's save to say we have a Mone problem. 4th PPV in a row she has been given the 3rd last match and again her match was average and didn't spark the interest that it should have given the amount of time set aside for her matches.

Danielson v Perry was very good and helped elevate Perry. The aftermath was intriguing. Huge interest to see what follows.

The main event was brutal as expected, and Page got his win. Would have liked to see Swerve pinned, but I can understand why he wasn't.

Another win for AEW with PPV's, and a relatively clean slate story wise heading into Grand Slam and WrestleDream. Pretty much anything is on the table at this stage, so it should be an interesting ride.

I really hope Willow is the Brisbane show, she low-key became one of my favourites on AEW. Being a squeaky clean babyface is almost impossible in 2024, there aren't many doing it better than she is.

She's seems like a genuinely cool chick and it comes across that way. That and having bucketloads of talent - so much to like.

Meltzer really really liked the show:
Garcia vs. MJF 4.5
Castagnoli & Yuta vs. Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships 4
Ospreay vs. PAC for the AEW International Championship 5.5
Statlander vs. Nightingale in a Chicago Street Fight 4.75
Briscoe vs. Cassidy vs. Takeshita vs. Okada for the AEW Continental Championship 4.25
Shida vs. Mone for the AEW TBS Championship 2.75
Danielson vs. Perry for the AEW World Championship 4.75
Page vs. Strickland in a Lights Out Cage Match 4.5
--------------------------
4.75 for Danielson/Perry is ridiculous to me, however.
