I've got a bit of time for Hartigan as a footballer, based mostly on him being one of our few players who didn't soil themselves on grand final day.

What a shame he hasn't been able to overcome those occassional brain fades. Has the raw tools, just mental lapses at times.

New coach should sort him out.

I will sew up my Rucks and **** block some others with the big bell end .

Don't really need him but he is good value here .

Freddy Bassett

Nice one. Very nearly took him last pick and I don’t need him either. Good value at this point with the poor ruck stocks at Essendon and the fact he was top 10 in the BnF in 2018.

Looks like there might be a sneaky double snake coming up ... my snake might just jump in first if Freddy takes too long with his snake .

Off topic I know, but re-signed in the middle of 2017. Key defender. Senior player. Our salary policy well known. He's much more likely to be getting 400K than 200K.
I think he would be on between $300-$325 K per which is still overs IMO ... but not horrendous .
If he is on $400 K then who ever signed off on that deal at the club needs to be shot

Maybe. But the salary cap is a LOT smaller than people think.

In this board, we like to claim that we must have a full salary cap because we're overpaying mediocre players.

Maybe. But we also have a very mature list.

Potentially on more than $600k (last year)

Laird
Talia
Smith
Sloane
M Crouch
B Crouch
Betts
Jenkins
Tex
Jacobs
Lynch?
Gibbs?

Maybe I'm missing some? Those players alone would be more than half the cap.

Ithink we're just coming off an expensive time as a list, even if we were also losing players.

Personally, I think the salaries should be public so we know, but that would never happen.

This kid impressed me massively every time i watched the Swannies last season .

Looks to be a lock for the 22 and an outside chance for 22 Under 22 .

Rounds out my midfield depth .... C'mon down James Rowbottom

Nice pick

Swans seem to like him and Kennedy, Parker are fading a bit

Hits, Misses, Gambles & Steals - Rounds 16-20

Miss 256) Freddy Bassett - Jamie Elliott (Collingwood) - Whoa! I was thinking of taking this guy with my next (25th) pick if a couple of others fall through. No idea he'd already gone. Injuries have finished him. Even if he gets on the park he's a shadow.

Hit 257) ShadeyP - Oliver Florent (Sydney) - his career has been building beautifully. This is the 'controversial' pick of the draft where ShadeyP picked a player, Scorpus chimed in afterwards with my pick which I'd given him (Florent) then Shadey edited his selection. Hmmm.... did he see my selection? Who got in first? Will it cost me the game? This game is drama, tragedy & comedy all rolled into one.

Hit 259) 1990crow - Ben Stratton (Hawthorn) - never lets you down

Gamble 260) Mego Red - Justin Westhoff (Port Adelaide) - surely Port are going to finally start turning over players who have spearheaded perennial failure seasons?

Gamble 262) Crow_68 - Josh Schache (Western Bulldogs) - Flakey

Miss 263) FAITH - Tim O'Brien (Hawthorn) - never does anything

Gamble 266) Donkey Magoo - Charlie Ballard (Gold Coast) - looks a likely type but you never know with these skinny kids

Steal 269) deaneus - Paul Seedsman (Adelaide) - is one of our best, most influential players when fit

Miss 271) Coopers - Matt Taberner (Fremantle) - The Dockers have waited forever for this guy to repay their faith. Still waiting.

Gamble 276) deaneus - Eddie Betts (Carlton) - Father Time has caught up surely

Steal 278) skam85 - Sam Jacobs (GWS) - despite his fall from grace with us I think he'll be one of the best 6-7 rucks in the competition

Gamble 284) Pilchard_Adams - Dan Butler (St Kilda) - sometimes an average player going from a strong club to a poor club pays dividends... and sometimes not.

Hit 288) ShadeyP - Jake Kolodjashnij (Geelong) - becoming a pretty reliable option down back

Miss 289) Freddy Bassett - James Aish (Fremantle) - are you a Norwood fan, Freddy? Only explanation

Steal 291) ShadeyP - Brandon Matera (Fremantle) - 'steal' as in you stole him from me as I take him every year and am the only one who rates him.

Miss 295) Pilchard_Adams - Jack Petruccelle (West Coast) - got speed but I don't rate his skills at all

Miss 300) Donkey Magoo - Anthony Miles (Gold Coast) - can't believe he's still on a list

Miss 301) skam85 - Allen Christensen (Brisbane) - I've taken this guy a few times and regretted it every year

Miss 310) deaneus - Dylan Roberton (St Kilda) - is he ever going to play again?

Hit 314) Scorpus - Michael Hibberd (Melbourne) - rock solid pick for this range

Hit 319) Mego Red - Lewis Jetta (West Coast) - decent value here

Hit 323) Freddy Bassett - Liam Duggan (West Coast) - solid enough

Hit 327) 1990crow - Adam Cerra (Fremantle) - year 3 he'll make his mark I reckon. I went a year early last season.

Gamble 331) FAITH - Majak Daw (North Melbourne) - goes without saying

Steal 335) skam85 - Matt Suckling (Western Bulldogs) - much too low
