Following on from the first non-Victorian Grand Final last year, it was once again another interstate teams playing at the home of football, the MCG. Will be remembered as one of the great Grand Final's due to a 4 point margin. Leo Barry took an amazing contested mark in the final seconds of the game handing the Swans their first AFL Premiership since 1933, breaking the longest Premiership drought in VFL/AFL history. Chris Judd became the 4th player to win the Norm Smith Medal for the losing side for his best on ground performance.

I think you'll find that St Kilda finished 3rd, ahead of Adelaide.

been through this bfore, stupid comment. st kilda beat adelaide in the qualifying final, hence they finish 3rd. notice we have pick 16, and they have 17.

You idiot. St Kilda beat Adelaide in the qualifying final, meaning adelaide automatically forfeited their "top spot" advantage to St Kilda. It's not rocket science.

Lonie, good summary, but it's stuff we could compile off the top of our heads. But I guess it gives you something to do ;) Do a Summary of the 1942 season :)
