Hey guys. Some questions for anyone who may be able to answer?

- Did I read correctly somewhere that a players skill ratings can change/develop over multiple seasons? If so, how - do you allocate specialised trainers/coaches or something like that?

- As an extension of that question, who decides when older players retire? Can we force them to retire, or does the CPU decide for us? Personally I've always felt it would be awesome for the user to decide when their older stars retire, and their skills should decline automatically once they've past their prime.

- Is trading fixed? That is, can I still trade Barnaby French and Trent Sporn for Dean Cox and Chris Judd, or?

- Can you trade players for draft picks?

- No online play? Whilst I'm surprised in one way if this is true, it at least saves the mega-frustration that was involved in playing AFL 2005 "online"... that was terrible with the odd exception.

- Lastly, what will the game retail for? :)

Thanks everyone.

1. Depending on how your team performed in the game/season (e.g. if you won/lost a game/won a premiership) you'll be allocated 'development points'. Before playing your next game you can allocate these points to any Player on your list or to the team as a whole. This allows you to 'bring on' your Players in development.

2. There are a number of factors that the CPU takes into account when choosing to retire a player. They include age, attribute ratings (how low they are and what rate they are dropping), games played recently, injuries, suspension to name but a few. You can also influence a Player's retirement by way of de-listing him and no other team picks him up in the draft. But that's a bit hit and miss.

3. Teams have goals when it comes to Trade Week. Whether they are rebuilding, topping up their list for a premiership tilt or on a budget will determine the type of trades they offer you.

4. You can trade players for draft picks but not draft picks for draft picks. A Player must always be involved in a trade.

5. Dropping the on-line aspect of the game gave us extra time and resources to work on the gameplay which I'm sure you'll agree when you play the game was the best approach for us to take.

6. I think it's somewhere around $70. But I'm not too sure about that.

Frees for after disposal? That sounds like a nice touch.

It's really down to timing. Go early or late in the tackle and you'll pay the price. The best one is dumping the player after the kick with an aggressive tackle...it's very therapeutic :p

Yep, found that too. The G-Train got angry when the Full Back ran away from him. So I got him to do an aggressive tackle long after the player got rid of the ball.
Poor Fraser didn't get away with it this time. He was reported by the umpire!

That was in 05 too.

Aggressive bump (R1 + Triangle) on a player after he kicks or just any player who doesnt have the ball and 8/10 times, you give away the free or get reported.

They have added more non-AFL related names so it is more random, how much they have added i don't know but it definatey should be better

It's likely to be included in AFL2007. Along with Long Kicks, Errors, Possession % to name but a few.

Can you view all the stats through out the year, or at least disposals, kicks, handballs and marks? Much like AFL '04, e.g. Richo has 100 marks at rd 20.

I went into a store today and they had AFL Premiership 2005 as their 'demo to the public' game. No signs around about AFL Premiership 2006, but I'm sure 2005 was up because of the close release date of 2006.
It's not really the best advertising sheme is it!

Would've been better off using AFL PE.

Hi all, since it appears there will be no PC version (which is a shame)

How much should one expect to pay for a Playstaion 2 console?

I saw them for $186 the other day. That's Brand New....you might want to buy second hand, but it could be risky
