As i said earlier not a bad game just need to be able to REACT quicker!!!

Be able to handball while spinning from a tackle. Cut out of a direction or spin that you have entered you know what i mean?? you press the spin button then you have to wait for 5 seconds meanwhile you get tackled!!

better reaction, turning circle and jump button!!! And FFS marking is impossible one on one and its ridiculous when reiwolt is out marked.

Too many times i've had Rutten back in the goalsquare all by himself, a long bomb comes in and Rutten goes to mark, jumps underneath the ball and it just sails past him for a goal.

IMHO AFL Live 2004 had the best game play out of all the games made I think you should go back to that sort of game style if you ever make another AFL game...and like in Madden include the little things like runners, waterboys and non sold out stadiums etc etc also because it will be next G it should have way betteer graphics!

YES that is probably the most unrealistic annoying thing of the game. Its these few LITTLE things along with SAVING TEAMS FFS that would make AFL 2007 awesome!!!

Just out of curiousity...has anyone updated the player lists to suit 2008? If you have can you let me know how long it took you? I'm just gathering background information in case we ever make another AFL game.

Hi all, I've not been here for quite awhile, is there another thread about AFL 2008 or aint there going to be a new game this year?
If there is another thead could someone post the link to it.

Thanks

From an IR Gurus perspective - no game has been commissioned for season 2008 or 2009 for that matter (at the moment). You could say AFL games are in limbo for now. As soon as I know anything I'll let y'all know. :)

Hi FH

That is not good news.
with the AFL season just around the corner.

Didn't Sony E, Playstation have the rights from the AFL for 2007,2008,2009?
I'm fairly sure that is what was said when It first came out on PS2 only.

I guess you may not know or cannot say, but have they sold them off and what was posted elsewhere in this forum a month or so back about some other company devloping a AFL game, not only for PS2/3, but for PC and XBOX true?

yeah I saw something about that AFL game. I think it's more management orientated rather than the arcade experience of our previous games. I'm not sure it's fully licensed though.

Not sure what the situation is with the AFL license with regards to who owns it and when it's up for grabs next.

To be honest folks I'd love to be working on an AFL game still but there just isn't a financially strong market yet for AFL, Rugby or for that matter even Cricket on next-gen consoles at the moment. It's unfortunate but we're all gonna have to wait for a more established hardware base here in Australia before some serious investment can organised.

How are we meant to do this?

The teams don't even save.

Looks like were gonna have to start getting into soccer, NFL, Baseball, basketball or ice hockey....

they are the only sports games worth getting got one of each except baseball impossible to find without going through ebay and than its still hard.

Re: AFL 2006 Talk

Just quickly....the forum has been a fantastic source of feedback for us. Especially in terms of gameplay - understanding what is frustrating and what works. We can sit here thinking we got something right but until we hear your reactions both at first glance and then months down the track we won't know for sure if we are doing the right thing. Also we are making a game for you guys and that's something we can't afford to forget so it's vital that we maintain a contact. It's funny but I think this setup is kinda unique in some ways - we are really enjoying the contact with our buying public.

Guys I won't be in for about 10 days now...a much needed break in NZ for me. See y'all when I get back. Keep the questions coming and I'll do my best to answer them as soon as I get back.

Almost forgot....a rough estimate on 2007? Not sure exactly but I'm thinking sometime in the 1/3 of the season. It's getting earlier every year which is a great thing!

Seems like yesterday

This is just my view, but the biggest mistake Igrus or the AFL or who ever decided it, that AFL game should be soley one platform only, was the prelude to the end of the title.
If there is a limited market place for this title, then limiting it to just one platform from a business and marketing sense was just plan dumb.

Maybe they used the same ad agency :p in those Banking ads that were on during the Cricket!! To have come up with that decision two years ago.

Who controls the rights to the AFL product?
The AFL. But who actually owns the rights to the game's design?

maybe there are some smart people out there like there is a Planetcricket.com, who can make a player / game editor for AFL
Used to be a basic one for AFL 98, 99 if anyone remembers it.
I think I still have it backed up on a CD somewhere, it was called Footy Fixer.

(afl 2009 or afl 2010) The next afl game, make sure you are able to lock on one player so you can control only him for the whole match, unless you change it. And make it editable, like the fixtures and able to control multiple teams in Career mode with the Dymanic Difficulty level option.
