Hawthorn have over 71k members and only 28k made it to the G on a sunny Sunday afternoon. With four premierships since 2008, I've learnt their supporters are pathetic.

Says the Melbourne fan who's team struggles to draw a decent crowd. How many did Melbourne get against Fremantle last week?

Love love love the new look Freo. Was at the point of disinterest watching the same old hacks playing the same old boring footy.
Suddenly we have the likes of Brady Grey throwing himself into everything, Crozier taking screamers, the Hill bro's waxing down a wing, McCarthy showing signs of being a superstar in the making, Logue looking like a new cult hero possibility.

Last week I learned how much better it is going to the footy in Melbourne (first time there for 20 years). Walking along the river to the G, all the bars and cafes and the City vibing, awesome. Plus you can see the game and the seats are better and its cheaper.

Not hating anything.

still 2 good games to go, but
Liked
Brisbane. so close, but they have some exciting talent. Really like Andrews and Hipwood.
Freo last gasp win. you knew it was coming with 2m left.
Crows - loving what they produce. A GWS v Crows GF should be a good spectacle.
VFL related - Kobe Mutch and Dylan Clarke. Impressive midfield duo for the Dons coming along.
Learnt
Eagles. sigh. Backed them to take the next step this year. It also takes the gloss on the one decent win the Tigers have had. Making it harder to get a read on them. Eagles @ the G...... Glad we have them in Melbourne.
Swans to miss finals for the first time i can recall without google.
[Spot left blank for next two games]
Didn't hate anything (so far), but
Friday night. One of the least competitive games i've seen by a non top-up essendon team in years.

Learnt that the Crows need to find out why their players are dropping like flies with hammy injuries. Seems like another 1 or 2 players every week and it's probably only one of the few things that can derail their season.

Liked: 5 zip.
Learnt: 2 Crouches are better than one. 67 disposals between them tonight.
First time they've played together for a fair while - may there be 10 more good years of it! Thanks Melbourne. :thumbsu:
Curtly Hampton will be huge for us this year. Just starting to hit his straps and show what he is relly capable of.
Hated: Delayed telecasts for Crows games when played interstate.
I've leaned you only watch crows games

Franklin and Roughead scoring 800 and 500 career goals respectively in the same week. Two Coleman medalists of this era. :D

Franklin: 252 games - 800 goals = 3.17 goals
Roughead: 236 games - 501 goals = 2.12 goals

The game has really changed since the Dunstalls and Locketts of the world managed to keep up five goals per game.

Geelong are lucky to be 5-0 after another unconvincing performance against a team expected to be fighting for the last couple of spots in the 8.[/QUOTE]
bollocks

Liked: North's youngsters are playing well.

Learnt: Boomer, Dal, Spud and Petrie were not the only older players North should have retired last year.

Hated: I am not suprised to be sitting here at 0-5.

Liked: Crows continuing to tick along, won the last couple by comfortable margins despite never really putting the foot down.
Learnt: Competition is ridiculously even. Round 5 or 6 is normally when you can start to get a feel for who's good and who's not, but I've still got no idea if the Crows are a genuine 5-0 side, or have just had some soft opposition (other than GWS and Port). Same goes for Geelong and Richmond.
Hated: Rory Atkins' hair. Umpiring in the St Kilda - Geelong game. Didn't affect the result since they stuck the shaft into both sides, but enough to ruin the game even for a neutral observer.

Liked: 5-0

Learned: We might snatch a premiership this season but even if we don't, our younger players look good enough to prevent us from bottoming-out a-la Hawthorn

Hated: It's an ongoing theme - the Giants being handed a potentially premiership-winning squad on a platter. What about foundation clubs like Melbourne, St.Kilda, etc. who've had to wait 50+ years to win a GF?

Forgetting GWS for a second, who's fault is it that the Saints and Melbourne have been that inept?

It's a combination of things: their own incompetence, of course; a little bit of bad luck (in St.Kilda's case); and being denied the best draft picks by the likes of Gold Coast and GWS... I still think it stinks that clubs that have been with us since the beginning of the competition are being overtaken by the newcomers who've gotten multiple leg-ups from the AFL.

Saints were a bounce away from a premiership and Melbourne had plenty of access to top picks before we came in. Blaming others is the lazy way out.

Both teams are now greatly improving and on the back of the "harder" road.
