I think Adelaide will improve massively on the last couple years. They aren't a threat to win the flag though. I think Adelaide are still a couple of years away from seriously challenging and I'd be predicting around 2027 / 2028. My prediction for top 4 hasn't changed from the end of last year, Brisbane, GWS, Geelong and one of Sydney, Carlton or Collingwood with Hawthorn finishing 5th. I'll say Sydney for no other reason than I follow them although realistically it's probably Collingwood that does it given their star factor.

2023 we were a super attacking side and took a big step forward.

Last year Nicks slowed our game down and we struggled.

So while we will need to be tighter defensively, I’d much rather see us prioritising giving our forward line the supply we did today, then build the defence in to that.

Good to see that Nick's learner his lesson with that defensive mindset.

That's a strange call.
If Laird gets injured or dropped they will (rightly) replace him with Bond.
Nank will get his chance when and if any of Peatling, Scholl,, Milera or Hinge go out.

It's a difficult job really for selectors. When there are injuries the decisions are usually straight forward but after 2 big wins who'd want to change a winning formula. It'll be interesting anyway.

These early easier games help set game patterns and structure and build confidence.

All the last 2 weeks have shown us about Adelaide is they are now putting sides to the sword with big runs of goals when they get on top. Most of Adelaide's close losses over the last couple of years have been because they haven't put sides away when they've got on top so the 10 minute lapses that you get from young teams hurt you more. Still can't see Adelaide finishing top 4 or seriously challenging for a flag this year but they'll scare a few teams.

Laird. Milera was very good today, and is still very fresh off a year long knee layoff.
But Laird was also pretty good today.
Peatling and Cumming just OK today.
