I'm truly amazed that your sole purpose for being here is seemingly to sh*t on people for choosing to stick with this game.

For someone who doesn't even own the game, you sure seem to invest a lot of attention into it.

Personally grateful (and I'm sure all Xbox owners are) that so many have been willing to be unpaid beta testers who in fact paid $100 for the privilege.

Keep those bug reports coming!

There is still so much wrong with the game.
-Moving the player is so janky, I play on from a mark and the player runs backwards for 20m before slowly turning around the face the right direction.
-The ruck from after the patch has gone from not being able to win a single hit out to not being able to loose a single hit out.
-if your in a pack it is impossible to not mark the footy.

It would be nice if Big Ant put out a list of there known issues so people can either add to it or not have to keep repeating the same issues. Just feels like there is so much wrong things are going to be missed.

Once things stabilise and they can get things closer to what Michael’s played before release I think it’s definitely worth putting together a list of issues.

To be frank, I've barely played it. Like Cricket 22, I loaded it and saw it needed work so will come back in a few weeks.

The limited time I get to play video games is spent playing Jedi Survivor.

Reckon what should have been the launch version will come mid-late June which is when I assume ultimate team will launch alongside the Xbox version.

The only party that looks good out of all this is Microsoft for refusing to publish the launch disaster. Which I find hilarious given the pre-launch bullshit coming out of Big Ant and amplified here.

The sad part is that this trainwreck wasn't more obvious to more people. The fact that there was no gameplay mere days away from launch should have sent alarm bells ringing throughout the old thread. The sadder part is that BigAnt misled and obfuscated the state of the game/delay for as long as they could to maliciously bait people into buying/preordering what they knew was an unfinished game. It's just so wrong, morally, ethically.

Still haven't bought the game so they'll get my $100 when the game is, you know, worth $100.

I'm happy to wait for it to be good because from the 5 or so games I've played, there is genuine promise. If they fix the biggest gameplay issues people have with it, which it seems they're working on doing, this will eclipse anything that's come before it.

I just hope it's in an acceptable state before Cricket 24 is released, because once that's on store shelves support for AFL 23 will dry up quicker than you can say Indian goldmine.

version 1.4 on the PS4 has improved tackling/hand-balling a lot. So that's a good thing. Some things i still notice.

  • Player movement is still janky and not smooth, at times.
  • Feels like i'm not controlling the player in direction of running, like a circle or forcefield is holding me back, at times.
  • Players look like they are sometimes sliding on the grass instead of walking, like a hot-shoe shuffle.
  • The ball sometimes rolls too quick towards the boundary, could be fine-tuned.
  • A Player lining up for goal, sometimes the ball feels like it's travelling really fast at the goals.
  • AI could try to defend a bit more.
  • AI doesn't quite feel as natural as it could be.

I agree.. so much to like about this game but we shouldn’t have to let go of sprint to tackle. The player movement after receiving the ball needs work aswell receiving a handball and trying to hurst away feels like you’re getting pulled back in by your nan for a kiss, almost as if you’re a toddler in a sandpit! But I do still enjoy the good parts of the game, just heed these game breaking tweaks made.

Shouldn’t have to let go of sprint for “auto bounce” either.

Evo 2 you just pushed the left stick and bounced

We didn't see anything related to management mode before the release, which I don't know why. The new contract system is very exciting and when fixed the drafting should be good.

The lack of any preview before launch would've been alright if the game was working fine on release.

But in hindsight it reflects badly that we didn't see anything until we saw the broken version. Which I'm sure Big Ant are just as annoyed with.
My thoughts exactly. How were we supposed to know this wasn't how it was intended to release when we saw fk all in the build up? A couple games from streamers (that were buggy as) wasn't a shot of confidence to begin with.

I don't get why they didn't change their MO, after AO Tennis.

Bouncing should be a button mechanic like R3 or something, not ending sprints like Live 1. It doesn't work well, because sometimes the players don't bounce even if you end a sprint. game_chromosome took my advice and put it in his footy game.

Are people forgetting that even the gameplay we saw before release looked like a buggy mess? Players hand balling 50m backwards and players standing around and watching a ball in dispute.

When criticism was given we were told it wasn’t the final build, but now we’re being told to wait for the game to get back to that level

"Not the final build" is up there with "irrefutable industry data" and

As mentioned on occasions to numerous to count, no one will be in the dark about the contents of this game prior to purchase - and that is all that should matter.
