STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Oh man i took a week off and this game is still so terrible.

Now i regret not refunding.

Thoughts:

No defensive play. Wait your turn to do a few pretty plays offensively. Basically unplayable and just a game on rails if you dont make mistakes.

I see why people get tricked into thinking there is some fun. Because the rail sometimes allows you to run on (because no defence) so you think you are good. But basically you are just taking a chance at destroying the witches hat defence.

Its unforgivable.

This is my last big ant game.

I will go back to RLL3.

Feel like the first few patches we got some improvement now there is a genuine holding pattern and a back and fourth where the games in limbo a little, just can’t believe it’s at this stage not sure what’s next

Hopefully been taken out while they fix and implement tactics into the game.

While I don't think they're building things like tactics or speckies or whatever from scratch in the week and a half since launch, I don't think anything was ever integrated into a cohesive whole until launch night, when it all turned to shit due to a lack of testing etc.

Game should have been delayed until the Xbox launch. Height of arrogance to release what they did, then expect paying customers to beta test it for free for weeks afterwards.

I worked that out. You have to hold triangle. If your tapping they will do that. Took me awhile to figure that out but that's not a glitch.

Press and hold triangle at every tackle. It works, they won't get back up.

Nope, pressing and holding triangle will do the same thing. That video is from me pressing and holding triangle.

I'm so glad I've downloaded 10 patches just to have players still stand still after a handball, 2 players on the mark, no wind and crashing atleast 2 times every hour.

Hopefully BigAnt compensates you for your data usage on your unlimited internet plan.

Been playing management mode ps4 no crashes after 6 games. Thought since I was on such a roll I’d dabble in a little online. Found a game no issues, sweet! Tap x to continue, crash. Awesome

Edit; just tried another 4 online games, crashed every time. Wow

Just got thrashed, even more proud of myself for sticking it out and not rage quitting in the third quarter (was sure I'd mount a comeback lol).

To me the game didn't play the same as it did after the patch last night, the AI was wayyyyyyyy harder!!

I think I made the AI spazz out Austin Powers Fembot style in the 4th quarter. I won an incorrect disposal free kick!!!!! Lost it soon after (chipped to one teammate who marked, attempted to chip it to the next teammate and it was intercepted). But after that point the AI kept on kicking hte ball out on the full whenever it got possession of the ball (went on for 3 minutes of game time).

I am so unbelievably angry right now. In my management career mode as the Bombers i got to Round 11 and I smashed the Eagles 69-156 on hardest with 7.5 minute quarters (so a 40 minute game) but it froze after the full time stats screen and I had to close out of the game and for one it didn't save my results and for two cos of how long the game was i couldn't be bothered playing again so i simulated it and i f**king lost by 4 points in the sim. I am so angry, how could the sim think that Essendon would lose to the shitty Eagles. What i'm most angry about is the fact that I spent 40 minutes of boring ass timne smashing a completely incompetent team yet to have the game completely erase it all. BigAntStudios FIX YOUR GAME FFS. It can't be that hard to stop all the freezing and crashing for God's sake I have been very patient and very lenient so far, but now it is beyond a joke. Either pay everyone back $50, apologise and fix your shit game or full refunds and give up.

Think it's weird that people are potting other posters for voicing their displeasure with the game. "It's just a game get over it", "So what you have to wait a few more days for a patch", "They're fixing it that's all we can ask".

Wtf? Don't we all expect a game to be released at a quality that is at a base level enjoyable to play? They charged people $100 to purchase a game that clearly was in a terrible state and hid that from the consumer by not releasing any footage whatsoever in the leadup.

I didn't buy the other BA titles like Cricket and Tennis but have read those releases were shocking too. Is it time we stop taking BA's word that it was the wrong version released on launch day, they were waiting on stock etc and just demand that we as consumers who pay good money for a video game can hold these developers to account?

Find it so weird that people are being given a hard time for criticising a game that is clearly below standard. Yes it's a game and yes there's more important things to worry about but that's not the point.

Should we have to put up with having to sit through a dozen patches because of straight incompetence? It came out almost 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting on major features to be installed and the gameplay to be fixed. And that's after an initial release delay of what, 3 weeks? Haven't people waited long enough?

The whole thing has been bizarre from start to finish lol

Idea for adding risk and reward into marking contests.
Having a button to hold onto your opponent making it hard for them to mark. But if you abuse it and use it all the time, you can get pinned for holding the man. This might help in mismatch scenarios when a shorter player is in a contest with a taller one or in high pressure moments when you 100% need to make the spoil.

Might be something to jot down and implement in the future after everything else is running smoothly.

me personally i’m on ps5 with a disc version and my game hasn’t crashed in weeks, i’m finally just now finding the game to be somewhat challenging on hardest mode. i’m genuinely having fun with this game now, still a bit to go until the game is where it could potentially be but overall i’m happy.

Are tactics definitely on the cards?
I thought Ross said a while back that tactics work in the play, but you don’t have control over them.

Hoping I’m wrong, and the tactics you choose can be seen in the Qtr Time huddles.
