STATE OF PLAY:
  • The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
  • Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
  • Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
  • This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
  • Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

My issue is less that, it's less that you're having to tell us this Michaels.

Unless you work for Big Ant, we shouldn't have to wait for streamers to tell the buying public the basic functions of a game. The most we got was a Ps4-focused list of controls from JNT BA last night, and occasional scraps after some posters here begged for them.

Totally understandable that it's a BA mistake that was never meant to happen, but the lack of comms around the launch has me feeling like I've been taken for a ride.

And even the positive reviews read like a negative. Who recommends a game with "major issues", "quite a few bugs, I just physically cannot tackle", "a buggy mess" or "keeps crashing when in a game or after the game"?
Must people people convinced Ross will send the a free copy of the next one.

Ai actually tackles and chases, although user tackling still problematic.
Handballing improved a bit. Can hit targets, but receiver is slow. Very hard to chain together or break through with.
Ai does seem to miss from time to time now

Apparently stuff was taken out, but I'm not really sure what

Some of the issues have been resolved with the patch (I'm assuming Steam released a patch, my download of the game was going on during the time the patch was said to have dropped, assumed it downloaded the patch aswell as the full game)

However I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and;

5min quarters first game - It took me a quarter to get familiar with the controls then I ended up kicking 70 unanswered points to win 70-30. Second game 2.5min quarters I won by 10 goals.

I'm marking everything regardless of if I'm outnumbered. CPU doesn't miss. Tackling pretty much non existent.

For Saints supporters, if you want a laugh go look at Dan McKenzie in the academy area.

This game needs a tonne of work. I can't believe they released a game that wasn't ready. What were they doing from April 13 to now?

We'd have to be told what was in in the first place to know what has been taken out tbf
 
Pre ps5 patch observations:

Set shots are too easy once you get the timing right - really need a version of pro mode controls (two joystick which introduces more intricate controls and requires greater precision to successfully execute kicks.)

kicking for goals on the run, it becomes apparent that the game lacks the necessary difficulty to make these shots challenging. Running towards the goal unimpeded often leads to a high success rate. To provide a more realistic experience, the developers should consider implementing additional elements that make kicking for goals on the run harder. This could include incorporating player fatigue, defensive pressure, or varying angles to create a sense of challenge.

general gameplay wise it is quite satifying executing multiple accurate kicks to teammates . The ability to chain together a series of kicks from one end of the field to the other, culminating in a goal is good albeit easy with the lack of defending the AI does.

AI doesn’t know how to tackle, they also are weak when spoiling which makes marking really easy to take even on ‘hardest’ difficulty.

In terms of the camera angles I like the broadcast (far) camera angle, it’s nice and I can see my teammates up forward.

Waiting for the patch to arrive on ps5 but yeah right now it’s like a training drill being so easy to move the ball from one end to another by foot….hand balling is mmmm not great.

Can anyone tell me the playlist for this game?
I uninstalled so I don't have the names but there's about 10 generic modern rock instrumentals. Nothing you're heard before. Seems like someone just searched Rock Music on Artlist or Storyblocks and licensed some cheap stuff.
That probably sounds negative, but i'll take that over Holy Grail and Last Ones Standing on repeat for 3 years.
 
Has there been a patch yet for ps5? Game runs decently, but has crashed 3 times and tackling and marking needs improving. AI just run away from you as you’re going down the field.
