I am looking forward to playing with the new patch.
I loaded the game up on steam and it crashed on startup.

Ticket lodged. I'm sure I've buggered something up...
 
Pre and post patch games, goal kicking is still very easy (behinds were rushed)

Mine does this EVERY time a new patch is released (end up having to ctrl alt delete to get out of it) but it's good to go after the second start up

I rotate between medium, hard and hardest :)
 
I played a game on medium (Roos Vs Dees) i smashed the dees by 40 +
Then played as a roos and crows (as roos), smashed crows in the 1st term by 30...on hardest difficulty...pro?
 
I’m confused about which side each post is…
As this meter fills right to left, the first post it passes is which post (when facing the goals)?
The posts change position (distance apart) based on difficulty, distance from goal etc but the they do not swap on footedness - the left line is the lef post, the right line is the right post, generally you will want to be as close to hitting the center as possible (except when there is extreme wind).

Given your UGC teams you are more likely to have issues than with standard teams - they'll be sure to look at your ticket tomorrow JNT BA
 
Had no issues with online until a game just then.

Dominated first half, second half my controller stopped vibrating for marks so I couldn’t stop the opponent, game then crashed as it exited.

Is that the report I send? That’s all I’ve been doing.

The team will likely ask further questions if they need to - thanks for reporting it.

I also wasn’t sure if it switched for the other end of the ground (I.e when the meter goes left to right).
I know this is now one patch behind, but here I pressed it well left of the old single line (expecting it to go left of the goals) but it aimed far right instead.

Officially have beaten and kept Melbourne scoreless 3 times now in AFL '23 :D

Almost stuffed it up in the last 30 seconds, they got a lucky run forward, I couldn't stop it, they got it inside 50... Max Gawn fumbled the mark, I launch it forward, they slingshot it back in the forward 50 and I intercepted the ball and kicked it away, gradually back to my forward 50. Siren went and winner winner chicken dinner.

Ok just played a game on hardest as Richmond vs Geelong. Pros and cons to follow.

Pros;
  • Centre bounce much much better. Still lost hitouts but had been losing them like 30-1, this time was 18-11. And hitouts to advantage wasn't default, also didn't always tap to same player. How much of this was Geelong having Blicavs in the ruck vs code changes I'm not sure though, be interesting playing next game vs a 'proper' ruckman.
  • General flow felt a lot better.
  • Goal kicking in play timing is clearer.
  • Love the stats when having set shot.

Cons/Improvements;
  • Marking contests still need adjusting. As it is now I can just stack my forward line with talls and win nearly every marking contest with a mark. If these came to ground majority of the time, unless you have clear size or numbers advantage, then suddenly there's an incentive to play small and quick players. But right now my best time would be 6x tall forwards. Same for intercept marks, way too many of these. Would love to see more halved contests. Balta vs Cameron Balta would have won 2/3rds, but it was always a mark to someone, never came to ground.
  • Goal kicking remains too easy. I kicked 11.1 with 3 rushed, which is similar over the last few days. especially on the run it feels very hard to miss. On the flipside, if you're 15 metres out 45 degree angle but don't have time to power up the kick you seem to always shank it horribly. Surely from this distance a quick kick should have a decent success rate without relying on powering the metre up? Maybe make it speed up quicker the closer you are to goal?
  • Stats for set shots were awesome. Would love to have these appear after goals especially for goals on the run, either during the cutscene or at the centre bounce. "Games played" would be a stat I'd love to see included when it's season stats that show up, to add context.
  • The protected zone in regular play seems to have gotten bigger? Definitely a bit of a gamebreaker allowing a handball receive player to run through it but not allowing their opponent to follow them. Hopefully this gets fixed.
  • Change player can be annoying, both semi assisted and manual often changing to a player you don't expect and then taking them in the wrong direction.
  • Also this has been a bug for a week at least but in Season mode, I'm unable to set roles for players. When I try to do so no pop up appears. Didn't try this patch so it may have been fixed but I keep forgetting to add it as feedback so doing so now.

Genuinely a lot of fun now. I was up 7.3 to 0.2 but ended up winning 11.4 to 7.6. If I wasn't so OP in marking contests I reckon we'd have a proper game on our hands.
 
Please tell me that player visuals means that guys who didn't have their face scanned now have it done.....Brodie, Chapman, Aish and Amiss please 😳
 
You can now bump and knock a player down instead of tackling?
Is this new or am I late to the party?

(Flick the right analog stick towards the player with the ball)
