someone asked about injuries in yesterday's stream and Ross answered with this: "Injuries is a really vexed thing, definitely will play a bigger part as in future patches but there are arguments as to how much they should effect a season - they aren't really fun to get"
Not sure whether that quote is from what he said on stream or you summarising, but to say they aren't fun to get is not a reason to have them not included in the game. It's about being realistic, and that does mean occasionally have a player tear an ACL and be missing for the season.

Just like the pre-season debate, just because it isn't fun, doesn't mean it's an excuse to be excluded from "the deepest management mode we've ever seen"

Such arrogant deflection.

Such an odd deflection too. If they opted to patch it once a month the player base would literally be almost 0. They had next to no choice. Coming off like people should be grateful for it just is weird.

I don’t think it’s an unfair statement to say that the majority of us are very grateful for it.
Did they have much choice? No.
But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be appreciative that they have done it still.

Yeah 95% of people are, nobody excepted daily patches.

I don’t think people need to be though and this constant beating of the drum about it in this deceptive way I find pretty weird tbh.

Has anyone noticed now that the opposition can play at superman level since the last patch. Completely scripted to the point they are unstoppable or is it just me?

I don’t mind losing etc but it’s at the ridiculous level getting smashed by over 100 points when up to last night I was 2nd on the ladder and most games were tightly fought?

Exactly right. The uncertainty around the inclusion of injuries, and not allowing customisation in management mode, are all strange decisions made on the assumption of how people enjoy the game mode.

This worries me. Injuries are a huge part of management mode and to not have them would be a huge letdown and leave the mode empty.

Yep. I purchased on launch day and have never got to play management mode because it's simply not done. I've given them the benefit of the doubt, but if this release has proven anything to me it's that they should have spent this year developing the game and planned a 2024 release for the pre season/round one.

To be fair, injuries are there. They are just hidden and you get no notifications or see them in-game. They’re only visible in team management or whatever it is. I started season 2 with Hawthorn and had Josh Weddle out with an ACL and Harry Hustwaite out for 3 weeks with a hip, and Josh Ward is currently out for 1 week with a foot injury. I’m only at round 4 - also had Mitch Lewis miss half of 2023. They just need to increase the frequency and have some notifications alert you to them.

Yet to see any form of suspension at all though - they’re both annoying but are huge parts of our game. Evo 2 had suspensions but always allowed you to challenge them and succeed or even if you failed, your player could still play half the time. With the rate of suspensions and injuries this year, it really is important to have them both be prevelant in the game

Are you playing games or simulating them?

Playing all of them. Having said that, Weddle did his ACL in the preseason when I continued from the draft to preseason selections - but Hustwaite and Ward were both after featuring in a game

Interesting! I’ve not seen one show up in my list yet! I’ll wait with anticipation! I know when simulating they show up but this is the first I’ve heard of this

Besides Lewis (which I think was in there from the start) I had 0 that I noticed in 2023. Only really noticed those guys missing in 2024 because I always do a “play the kids” pre season game and Weddle was missing. Hustwaite played Round 1 and then was unavailable for a few weeks, Ward played 1 quarter in round 3, I tactical subbed him and he ended up injured. Not sure what triggered any of the others

Ben Brown has hair now!
No more nightmares!

Well they have to fix it to a minimum of what they are advertising, otherwise isn't it false advertisement and can be taken off shelves?
