I think that’s more because of Sony being Europe based. Unless you’re on Steam in which case your point is fair.
Assuming the majority of BA finish at 5-5:30 so not sure what else would need to happen for a Steam upload?
The team that works through the day is different to those testing and releasing at night. We submit the patches at the same time, Steam just gets out there faster.

I have to say people complaining about things being hard really pains me. We've had 25 years of AFL games where you end up winning every game by 100 points on the hardest difficulty. I understand the frustration of missing set shots, just like missing a penalty in Fifa or a free throw in NBA is frustrating, but I want this frustration.

Can't have good moments without bad moments, would much rather have Dylan Grimes very difficult to take a set shot with than have every player feel like Todd Marshall. I'm sure when Grimes has a set shot too he's thinking "Why the * did the ball swing so hard right like that?"
The interesting thing is to read the "I beat x by 100 then lost to y by 100" - the AI will work you out, if you play the same style all the time then be prepared to be picked apart like Carlton post Crows game.

As a user, you want to feel in control though. Like, if you flush it on the meter, you'd like to know it's good....
The difficulty should be getting that precision in the meter.... And the randomness should be shown in the meter somehow.... Like using a smaller strike zone, quicker meter bar, maybe even a later, more-abrupt 'start' time of the meter...along with the suggestion from game_chromosome a while back with an accelerating meter (non-linear speed).

This could all make it more difficult, without making the outcome unknown with the shot.
You are in control, you just need to adjust where you are aiming for wind/footedness - there is no randomness to it. We will be adding a non-linear timing to the meter though, which will make it harder.

That’s my problem! My gamestyle is basically the same thing most games!
Nice to know you need to change things up a bit!
Will keep it interesting tweaking tactics and trying new game plans.

Yeah agreed, I love this aspect of the game. Bit different when it was the AI tapping to the ruck rover handballing to the wing kicking to the CHF who handballed to the HFF who would goal and concede 5 in a row this way, thankfully those days are gone!

Could be just me but I’m finding scoring a lot harder since the update.
Been averaging about 170 a game across both sides. 3/4 time in the current game and I’m up 32-13.
Same quarter lengths, same difficulty.
This is a nice challenge now.
Seems tactics are definitely in effect both ways! So far a really good addition 👍🏻

Yeah am on Steam, was more the 10pm vs 5pm but Ross's explanation makes sense. Still a gripe for me though!

And more tackles as well! But not to the extent in my opinion that it’s become overly congested. Just closed the game a little bit.
Feeling like a have less time to dispose of the ball.

Do you expect me to believe the AI is smart enough to understand and adjust to my gamestyle, but not smart enough to sign a delisted Hayden Young?

It's definitely harder to score, I'll never know if I could have got to 1000 points on 20 minute quarters :p lol

These bullshit HTBs after a mark, I swear....

Someone give me an ambien

Don't know why people are noticing this now it's been in the game for a few weeks!!! :p
Mark the ball, don't play on but the game/umpires/opposition players think you have and you get a free against you faster than it took to mark the bloody ball :p

Just played a batch of games on PS5 with the latest patch for consoles, next area of focus should be on:

  • handballs.
  • tackling feels a bit too excessive causing a lot of congestion. Either that or pay holding the ball.
  • perhaps slow down the speed of the game a tad.
Positives:
  • Crashing seems to be good. I played 4-5 games in a row without any crashing.
  • Overall gameplay has improved since Day 1.
