I can see it be 2 years? AFL 25 with a 2024 update or something.Assuming this is going to be a yearly release, why would Xbox owners buy AFL23 when AFL24 comes out in April the next year? (or vice-versa, perhaps)
Some xbox users have been losing their mind over a month and a half long wait so cant imagine them wanting to wait another 9 months for a footy gameAssuming this is going to be a yearly release, why would Xbox owners buy AFL23 when AFL24 comes out in April the next year? (or vice-versa, perhaps)
Unless management mode is actually fixed and effort is put into it, game will be dead before the xbox release.
Fair enough. I just think a lot of damage has been done already. I reckon most people aren't going to hang around long term if their main cover feature of management mode isn't even looked after 2 months after release.I feel like people just say this because they want to put pressure on management mode getting better asap.
As long as it does improve, it doesn't really matter when. Obviously I want it now, but if it took 12 months I'd just start playing it 12 months from now. As has happened with a number of games like No Man's Sky, Bannerlord and many early access games. It's the IF, not the WHEN.
Adding the WHEN comes more from desperation than any valid threat that people will refuse to play the game if the same mode is released 3 months later. Don't get me wrong, I share that desperation, but am aware that I'll play it whenever it gets good.

It’s going to be different strokes for different folks is the problem. I for example don’t play offline or single player modes, they bore the absolute crap out of me but I completely understand others are the opposite.Proteam will be a good addition but I am one person who has never played the equivalent on FIFA etc. so may not even use it on AFL 23 and it was never going to be an attraction for me to play the game. I like managing a team, drafting, trading, training etc. That's what would keep me and some others interested in playing.
May as well reprint the discs
Would be a fair few gbs in patches to download by now!!
Pretty well hit the nail on the head here. It’s going to be different strokes for different folks is the problem. I for example don’t play offline or single player modes, they bore the absolute crap out of me but I completely understand others are the opposite.
So we need:
Now with Xbox to come, resources being shifted to that other game that’s due out and all the above needing work how do they please everyone and prioritise?
- General gameplay massively improved i.e bugs, glitches, exploits etc.
- Online needs a huge about of work.
- Management mode needs depth added.
I don’t envy them but at the same time I don’t have empathy either (does not apply to all BA staff) because it’s their own doing that has got us to this point.
Damage was done when it was announced that single player career wasn't going to be included to focus on Proteam which wasn't even in the release or hasn't been added as of yet.Fair enough. I just think a lot of damage has been done already. I reckon most people aren't going to hang around long term if their main cover feature of management mode isn't even looked after 2 months after release.
If someone was to review your work and basically say “it’s shit and you’re shit” and leave no list of things to improve, you’d say it was a pointless review.Do we really need the constant hallway monitoring of people’s comments on an online footy forum?
I didn’t realise that we were in parliament

My VERY uneducated guess would be it’s the same and they’ll just have a gigantic patch to download. Now I’ve said that watch it be the complete oppositeI wonder if there will be any difference in game version between xbox physical & what PS physical launched with

It was mentioned in an interview with Twistie that solo career was in IIRC. The announcement of it being removed in favour of Legends again, came at the 11th hour. Was single player career mode ever in and then pulled out or did it just not ever exist?
As keen as I am for Pro Team that seems an odd decision. It was mentioned in an interview with Twistie that solo career was in IIRC. The announcement of it being removed in favour of Legends again, came at the 11th hour.
So many weird things that have really not been explained at all to keep us scratching our heads.
Legitimately like a crying baby until the dummy is handed over in here sometimes with waiting for patches (and this absolutely includes me waiting for patches before anyone comes at me for attacking others )The natives are getting restless Ross... Please release a big chunky patch to polish the gameplay and management mode.

I’d assume that it was very barebones at the time (like most of the game) so they could afford to ditch it in favour of working on ProTeamAs keen as I am for Pro Team that seems an odd decision.
If solo career was in, why take it out?
I’m not familiar with game development whatsoever but could it have existed with Pro Team coming? Was it absolutely necessary to drop it for Pro Team?
And if it was already in why couldn’t they hold off Pro Team til next time?
I’ve been full of support for BA but this decision baffles me.
Makes sense actually! Management and online would need even longer to fix if PT and solo were also in and needing patching.I’d assume that it was very barebones at the time (like most of the game) so they could afford to ditch it in favour of working on ProTeam
Keeping both would have meant they have to fully flesh out both modes and they were probably aware that they weren’t capable of managing an extra game mode on top of what they are already doing
Again, just an assumption.
I believe the wording was something along the lines of “we’ve managed to obtain more Legends than previously thought so resources will be diverted to that mode from solo career”.As keen as I am for Pro Team that seems an odd decision.
If solo career was in, why take it out?
Hardest is actually simple to play if you have the reflexes and patience to deal with the buggy AI.
True, unfortunately I'm only playing a game here and there when a patch drops... I'm still waiting for the game to be engaging.Legitimately like a crying baby until the dummy is handed over in here sometimes with waiting for patches (and this absolutely includes me waiting for patches before anyone comes at me for attacking others )
A little patch and we’re all soothed for a few hours before something else makes us throw the toys out of the cot
