If only the AI ran this slow for the whole game, instead of their Road Runner tendencies!! :p


Sportsbet: Who triggered the 50m penalty, there are multiple options!!


Genuine User Error, - couldn't decide on the appropriate shot selection, so opted for the drop punt. Still managed to miss :(

Early 50m penalty call - the 50m penalty was called a second before the Hawthorn player was running on screen. I was shocked!


Push in the back prediction...... I'm spotting the AI patterns fairly early now, I knew that my running play was going to lead to the AI giving away the push in the back free kick before it happened.





Also had a bit of a light bulb moment, having seen many instances of players running backwards throughout the game's release (and still occurring today) I was wondering WHY they'd be doing such a thing. Then it dawned on me when I saw the umpire running backwards along the boundary line. Also kind of explains why some player AI (both the AI of the AI and the AI taking over human controlled players) run in a quarter circle motion (imitating the arc of the boundary line lol).

How many 50m do the Ai team giveaway compared to the controlled team?
Can pretty much count on one hand, it's similar to when the AI was getting holding the ball free kicks, when the human player barely would (in the first few weeks of release).

AI teammates of human controlled teams give away free kicks willy-nilly though.
 
Currently running an AI v AI match where I'm planning on fully taking control from half time onward... shall update this post as time progresses. I decided to take control toward the end of the first quarter (so far) as Hawthorn was being belted by over 100 points!!!. This is the final goal of the first quarter, couldn't believe it went through as with the way the shot meter works when kicking on the run.... I was more kicking in hope and expecting it to either go out on the full or a behind at best.

I let the Swans get a 100+ point lead several times throughout the game before I started my fight back. The AI momentum was a funny beast - when I wanted to start my charge.... I had to wait 2-4 minutes just to kick one goal, before the goal avalanche finally started to work for me.

I tried to focus on #17 - the AI movement was normal pace for a bit, then out of nowhere he just slowed to a crawl. Note what happens after the mark is taken. The Swan player gets stuck and spasms out of control - I reported this ages ago and it still exists but "they'll look into it" lol.





Going back to the match I just completed.... I pretty much had scores level in the third quarter. Then it was one team scores, other team replies for a fair while after. But the Swans kicked away in the 4th quarter and with 6 minutes to go...... I needed 8 goals to even think about winning. It was hard at first, then the goals just kept coming one after the other bang bang bang. I still needed 3 goals with just 3 minutes to play, an easy task ? More luck based than anything with how much aerial ping pong was going on. There was a pivotal moment where the Swans could (and should) have goaled again and extended the lead to 24 points................... However CJ spoiled and intercepted the kick, strolled away and Hawthorn kicked the goal to make the game more intense 12 points the difference and it was indeed game on.

But then similar to my match saving interception, there was one that the AI screwed up. I kicked a behind, they brought the ball back in play, I managed to get the ball back, pressed forward...... this time they intercepted my kick.... only this time I was able to tackle their ball carrier and re-take possession of the ball, to kick the goal and put us 7 points in front with just over 60 seconds remaining in the game.



That's where the game fizzled out. If that was the final moment of the game that would have been an epic finish. But in the final minute of the game, I scored another 3 goals!!! So the margin was more of a lopsided smashing.

Why is there no crowd?! Also I love how the footy actually bounces off things like the goal posts or gates behind goals, way better than floating into the graphics. The goal kick meter on the run is so random also and leads into some really odd kicking animations 😱

Because I turned the crowd off (going to run a COVID lockdown style season soon :p - yes I'm inventing reasons to keep playing the game lol).

Been thinking, as the season is almost over and the game hasn’t been to the level Bigant intended, incomplete, bugs galore, slow patches, no xbox and still no Proteams. Wonder the possibilities of Bigant rebranding the game as AFL24 next year with updated title/cover, game intro etc when the game is at the level it should be.

Just reading the BA forum I’m not sure they’re even checking it, posts from two days ago going scorched earth on them are still sitting there uncensored as people beg for answers around them.
 
I'm certain they're counting their losses and moving on. I sent Steam some reading material from The ACCC, so I can recoup my losses on this.

They did mention that they are working on more updates and testing but the console process takes a bit longer like last time.
