How is it, though, 23 can't even get movement right after 5 months? That's concerning. I don't have to fight the controls to move left and right, hand ball, kick with Live 2011 or Evo 2. It could be a fundamental issue with 23 if they can't fix such a important mechanic for this new base game, when they got it right in their older base game. And it was strange the producer was defending that you can't move where you command, stuck in the mud and the animation skips.Cricket 24 only got such a low score because it’s a copy/paste job from 22.
AFL 23 (at least in its current state) is a good starting ground to build future titles from.
I think it all comes from a better base being Don Bradman Cricket 14, which probably had 4 years of development. AFL 23 has a really bad base with little development time presumably. Would have been better had they just continued on with Live 2011, but may have been impractical.Cricket 22 was a way better game than AFL 23. It remains a really good platform on which to build great cricket games. Unfortunately Cricket 24 built basically nothing.
Really two different issues.
We were told this was user error. And it was strange the producer was defending that you can't move where you command, stuck in the mud and the animation skips.
..or not released it for another 12 months to make sure everything actually worked.Would have been better had they just continued on with Live 2011
Probably needed 2-3 more years of development. We were told this was user error.

YOU can’t get movement right after 5 months, I have no problem moving my players where I want them to go - the stuck in the mid issue is annoying and something I want them to fix but it happens rarely nowadays. How is it, though, 23 can't even get movement right after 5 months? And if they make a sequel, are they even going to be able to fix it? And on top of that actually make the gameplay advanced with complex contested play like the real sport for once? 23 was a clear underdeveloped disaster, it really doesn't give me hope for a sequel unless they do a 180 with their attitude/direction and give the sequel years of development with a clear goal, next time. From what I've been reading, they just rush their games out without direction.
That's surprising, when I can move in the direction I command in every other game I play, even old AFL titles. It's not an user issue, it's definitely a broken function from other peoples testimonies, too. I recall pushing my analog stick in one direction and my player doing absolutely nothing.YOU can’t get movement right after 5 months
It's too slow, players play stuck in the mud or stutter. It's far easier to move in Evo 2, it's a stark contrast where the players actually respond to commands. The more I play 23, the more I love the way it plays, especially the handball game
The stuck in the mud issue still needs to be entirely wiped out but you’re kidding if you think AFL23 is too slow, that is user error and lack of skillThat's surprising, when I can move in the direction I command in every other game I play, even old AFL titles. I don't think so, compare it to Evo 2 and it's evident disposal and turn movement in 23 is super slow. With sliders, the kick/handball meter doesn't take anytime to load up in Evo 2, whereas it takes too long in 23, and you're dealing with the stuttering and awkward movement.you’re kidding if you think AFL23 is too slow, that is user error and lack of skill
Disposal is quick if you have the skill/reflexes to make it quick, unless you’re doing a hack/clearance kick, the kick meter should take time to build up, otherwise you’d just bomb long every disposalI don't think so, compare it to Evo 2 and it's evident disposal and turn movement in 23 is super slow. If you want to do a long hand pass, it'd take too long to fill the meter up, similar with a long kick, whereas it's fast in Evo 2. Also, you can't hand pass more than 10 or so metres in 23, whereas you can pass really far in Evo 2 and quick, and there's no stuttering or stuck in the mud in Evo 2.Disposal is quick if you have the skill/reflexes to make it quick, unless you’re doing a hack/clearance kick, the kick meter should take time to build up, otherwise you’d just bomb long every disposal
I played a tonne of Evo 2 and it’s not even close how much better 23 is in most areas
The game was broken on release, it’s not anymore. If you want to do a long hand pass, it'd take too long to fill the meter up, similar with a long kick, whereas it's fast in Evo 2. I'm not sure why you're chalking everything up to user issues, when the game is well known for being broken, the only AFL game to make national news for it, in fact. I know it's not just me, I even saw it on YouTube with Twistie3's gameplay footage not long ago, and even his user controlled player randomly stopped moving.
It still has stuck in the mud, player stutters, animation skips, players randomly stopping, player command issues, etc.The game was broken on release, it’s not anymore.
I don't believe there's even an option to lob the ball like there is in Evo 2, so you'll be getting intercepted all the time. The longest distance is not past 20 metres, when players in reality can handpass longer than 30 metres. The lob/distance handball could use some work but handballs over 10 metres are definitely doable.
It's because you're claiming it's a "user problem" when it's happening to multiple people, thus I use another person as an example that it's not a singular user issue.I notice whenever you refer to the game you mention gameplay footage on YouTube almost as if you haven’t played the game since release
Because of his ties to the producer, he's going to be diplomatic. However, you can see all the issues in his gameplay footage, like a user controlled player randomly stopping when they have possession and it's play on.if you’ve watched some of twisties recent vids, he actually mentions how much fun the game is now.
I’ll give you the stick in the mud issue but none of the other issues you mention exist anymore. It still has stuck in the mud, player stutters, animation skips, players randomly stopping, player command issues, etc.

They still exist from my experience and watching other peoples gameplay footage. Unless you're on console and it's completely different, whereas I'm on the PC port.none of the other issues you mention exist anymore.
How do you do lob handballing, is there a button combination? I couldn't find anything in the manual. There is a lob handball option
On PS5, clearance handball is L2 + square and lob handball is L1+R1+square, this is from the in-game guide. They still exist from my experience and watching other peoples gameplay footage. Unless you're on console and it's completely different, whereas I'm on the PC port.

Found this beauty on Twitter.
Funny how the narrative has changed 4 times
Your joking right?Cricket 24 only got such a low score because it’s a copy/paste job from 22.

Why?
At this point I honestly believe you troll on this forum. The stuck in the mud issue still needs to be entirely wiped out but you’re kidding if you think AFL23 is too slow, that is user error and lack of skill
This is what I laugh at the most. People don't want to pay $100 for something that "might" and I say again "might" be good in the future. It's ridiculous to think consumers should be expected to fork out good money for something that may eventually one day in the future be considered ok to play! Simply don't release the game until it is at that stage!AFL23 is a game with better future potential
Not really, I mean no one has heard anything from the company about the game lately, let alone anything about future plans... Which most would be sceptic about now anyway. Not having a crack at you or your opinion but Ross really dropped the ball on this one. Why?
If you can’t see that AFL23 is a game with better future potential than most of the games before it, you’re kidding yourself
I’ve agreed that the stuck in the mud issue is still an issue and needs fixing. At this point I honestly believe you troll on this forum.
Reported by many people are the same issues regarding movement, stuck in the mud etc still happening except for you! I've sort of narrowed it down you either work for Bigant or are Ross pretending to be someone else.
User error does not cause players stopping when they're handballed to and then being run down even though when they received the handball they were a god 5m ahead of the opponent.
Teleporting is still happening at random times. Glitching across the screen. That's not user error.
If it was tackling, or marking or hitouts etc. then yeah I could accept that maybe the player does suck and could be user error but the reported issues are still happening to multiple people. Have a read of Bigant's forum and you will see a multitude of complaints about the game still being made.
