I hadn’t had any crashes on the game for weeks until installing the latest patch (1.19 PS4) now it crashes at the end of the game I’m up to on management mode.

Sorry to read that, i haven't had any in the last week, on PS4. So I guess maybe report it as a ticket to Big Ant on their website is what is recommended.
 
I know what you're saying, sure, but it could also be that the graphics department is separate to the tactics and coding department
They certainly would be different teams, was just having a crack.

Just getting super frustrated in a lot of online games where plays are very similar and you’ve got very little options in mixing things up without tactics.
 
just played the game for the first time at a friend’s house, on at least 5 occasions a player was tackled to the ground with the ball, and couldn’t be tackled by anyone else or dispose of the ball (implying a ball up should happen)… only for the player to get straight up and continue like nothing happened. over 3 weeks since release, how has this not been fixed yet?

Most recent patch has made the game really easy.

Having said that, whatever you guys tweaked around the contest in the middle is really enjoyable.Had some plays where players broke free and the last handball got smothered and pinged back the other way due to a lucky bounce. Felt much more unpredictable in a good way.

Would be nice to see more leading/kicking to a lead and some more marking fumbles.

Don't get me wrong graphics are nice to look at BUT game play or at least core working game play should exist before the graphics are spruced up.

**For all of my "whinging" about the game itself, I'd say the game play we currently have is 90% enjoyable - 10% annoying/frustrating.
It does come across a bit rich when he flat out mocks and ignores anyone who has different opinions or critical (-but justified) feedback on his game, despite posting over 120 times in the old Evo 2 thread, potting half the things they did wrong, all under the guise of just “adding to the conversation”..
Could you imagine his reaction if the WW guy posted in here at the same frequency?!

I genuinely hope this game can become the greatest ever AFL game, but until then, a bit of humility and openness to “the other side of the fence” from Ross wouldn’t go astray.

I mean cmon, genuinely bagging a guy because he uploads funny glitches in lower quality videos is just childish, and not what I would expect or want from a leader of a company.

This happens if you don't release the ball early enough and i would say is simulating what could actually occur in a real game. There will be times where you are tackled and can't release the ball, especially if you press handball a bit too late, and you will be locked up in the tackle, hence a ball-up occurs. So i wouldn't say that this is anything out of the ordinary. Now in terms of being tackled by multiple people. For now, the game style is 1-on-1 in terms of tackling, this i would imagine might change down the track. But i personally don't mind it, as it's a style of football i enjoy, rather than congestion. Though i think tactics and sliders might change that when introduced, me speculating.

Have noticed players do run ahead and put their arms out for the quick pass request. So i have noticed players do run and lead, by finding open space, if that makes sense. Marking fumbles?? I see what you are saying, i do drop marks or they are spoiled against me, but overall i can take a mark pretty well, on easy mode, which makes a bit of sense, maybe marking could have a timing metre, but then you might get people complaining that it's too hard, so i don't know, maybe sliders could fix that.

this would be fine, but sometimes a ball up wouldn’t be called. tackled to ground with the ball, all players have stopped, but then the ball carrier gets back up and continues like nothing happened; this happened twice in the goal square for me leading to easy goals. there is no way this is intentional as other times i’d be tackled to ground and a ball up would be correctly called

Ok, yes, this has happened a few times to me. There is a quick return to regular play though, but yeh, sometimes that can happen. Something to look at maybe.
 
Just noticed something after playing a game (ps5, v1.20) with revenge on my mind (gee vs gws). Had a few occasions where I lay a tackle on a opposing player which should be called holding the ball, but isn’t. I found that if I hold the power modifier (l2) + tackle it gets called correctly 9/10 times.

Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

I have a feeling it’s a break in the coding and gets fixed soon. (Ticket submitted)

Pretty sure in one of their earlier post post launch they did mention it. Refer to the image attached and sliders have been a big part of their games so yeah pretty confident they will be implemented, albeit I would think one of the last things and especially after tactics as it would affect that part of the game too.

Yep, plenty of times but online. Also submitted tickets but it remains.
One thing I noticed also, but also could be me not paying attention, but does l2 and tackle actually produce a different type/style of tackling? I still think the tackle coding is not as it should be, that’s why it is difficult and not being registered correctly, albeit unless you press L2 also.

I’m not sure on sliders but the wording used was Custom Difficulty/Adjustments which would imply so but I’ve learnt it’s best not to assume.
Yeah until it’s released/on patch notes; safe not to assume. Lots of different things getting in the way and we don’t know what will/won’t make it anymore

Thought Ross mentioned qa is working the weekend and there might be a small chance of a steam patch if it passes QA? Looking at steamdb there has been some updates today (changed depots)……could be something……maybe?

Maybe there is! I thought QA are just there monitoring crashes and a patch would come if it was crucial for quality reasons, but I have no idea what I’m talking about so may be completely off the mark 😂

Thinking QAs wil be responsible for regression testing with the game which includes the new patch ready for deployment, which might involve them playing the game and looking out for what they are planning to put through and also look at whether any issues reappear due to the new patches. If it passes all the test steam users might get a patch this weekend, which I hope do happen cause the latest patch has in my opinion reintroduced some issues such as teleporting players.
