I don't think this has anything to do with being politically correct Mike. It's simply the AFL acknowledging lack of a prayer room may prevent some fans from attending a game and moving to address that issue. In other words they're doing it:
1. For the money.
2. To be inclusive.

Cant see why anyone would have a problem with it TBH.

My comment was actually aimed at the second portion of the post (re: banning ham in supermarkets)

I have no problems with the prayer room, we have one at my office

Are you thinking of moving there? Please do!

BTW, he didn't say Dubai or Malaysia, which are non strict Muslim countries, because they are tourist destinations. Funny how that works hey.

So a backwards former colony with borders drawn by their colonial master, racked with decades of historical inter-tribal conflict and military coups, with no tourism dollars and a small export economy is a shithole? Wow I learn something new every day.

Yeah, sorry about that. Responded and then read through the rest of the thread where that was made clear. Although the example has been proven to be off I do agree we should be vigilant against PC run amok. IMH experience though most instances of PC madness are in fact media beat-ups.

Large print: SCHOOL BANS CHRISTMAS

Small print: School is not having specific Christmas celebration but is making it a multi-faith occasion where parents and students bring in food to celebrate.

Large print: ANZAC DAY BANNED, AFRAID TO UPSET MUSLIMS

Small print: School changes syllabus slightly so that students learn about Turkish involvement in WWI and Gallipoli.

I find that happens a lot.

Malaysia = State + Religion seperate

U.A.E. = Prince who spends money and welcomes Westerners to the country and even has the nerve to enforce some basic Islamic rules on them

Now Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, Libya & Iran on the other hand.

If only people cared about the persecution of North Africans of tribal decent who have to convert to Islam or get vilified, get no health care or education in glorius free countries like Mauritania.

So I guess we should persecute Muslims in Australia to make up for the wrong we feel they've done abroad. Is that the gist of it Dodger? Or should we ban Muslim immigration, burn down mosques and deport/forcefully convert Muslims.

Might need a whole congregation to pray for shanks palmer.

The first game was an aberration, he was wearing someone else's boots.

Normal service has resumed, the congregation can now pray for the complete rehabilitation of Micky B,

And slip in a few, praise be to allah's, for The Fyfe. Amen

No we shouldn't sink to their level right?

You misunderstand me TMB.

I actually don't mind the idea of a prayer room and couldn't really care, what I find funny is people calling other people backwards red necks on issues and pretend that a minority (in this case the Muslim community) in a certain area don't engage in the same (actually much worse - considered human rights violations) where their religion are the majority.

My current pet hate is a burger with the lot as it is now called in most burger shops, firstly it's a hamburger owing to it's place of origin not because of ham and secondly when a hamburger is listed as with the lot, then I want bacon, something needs to be done, it should be called a burger with nearly the lot.

Religion of all sorts causes more trouble in the world than all the despots of history put together, but for goodness sake, don't take away the bacon :(

The Kitchen Sink

First ingredient is a meat pattie, then bacon.

No compromise

This has got to be one of the best things I've ever read on here. :thumbsu:
