everyone agrees with Walsh being the best FF in the league but you cant make a team of the YEAR if you only play a handful of games. The full forward spot should always go the leading goal kicker and this year it will be Booth

Walsh is, and has been for a long time a terrific full forward. But Lachrilly's right, you can only be picked if you have played enough footy to warrant selection. Booth has kicked 72with 2 games to go, come on fellas give the guy some credit.

I would have young Bosen on the wing before Adams, Adams still in the side, but on the bench. And Ehlich on the other wing before Smith, who I would have on the ball.

If you want Curtis Allen on a half forward flank, who are you going to remove for him? I don't think he would make the team sorry Flintstone. Same goes for onballers, I think they are pretty well cemented. looks a pretty good team to me.

great backline, agree Walsh can't be FF not enough games , yes Booth has to have it.

Would throw Downes in the forwards, good leads, strong mark not a bad boot,

and Elliot there somewhere

It would be something if the league look at best players of year 20--

I know some clubs do this down in South Aus from all their grades, I have seen 12 years faces light up when named along side older lads, worth considering from all our senior clubs

Ok, well here is my kiss of death for this week.

Hawks to get up over a strong show from Norths.
Saints to account for the Cutters but am thinking that Saints will know that they've played a game of footy.
Centrals to topple Port.

I think at this time of year I think all games are going to be over at half time/3 qtr time. Last quarter comebacks may flatter though.

Hawks to come off the break and pummel Norths, 90 points at 3 qtr time, 100 points at the final siren.
Saints will lead Souths by 5-6 goals at half time and maintain it (will be very similar to their first meeting)
Port will be too classy for Centrals, who will have passages, but by 3 qtr time Port will have a 7-8 goal lead and it won't matter what happens in the last.

I know these are fairly pinpoint predictions, I'm just having a dip at a more in-depth prediction.

It's a weird one to predict the Port game, Centrals put up a good fight again us who played very mediocre all day. Then Saints beat them by 30+ points. If I was a bookie i'd be saying.

Centrals +4.5
Port -4.5

Interesting book, Centrals are a hard one to read,

(mees thinks & it hurts )

Centrals will take it to them & fail in the last qrt, with Douglas coming away by 3-4 majors in this Twilight game.

Saints should know they have had a game against Souths at Fretty, expecting good crowd there (sorry I won't be, I'll be in Tully for 3 days at a dog championship show, so can't have an ale with any of you at the can bar)

Hawks should take it off Norths in the 2nd half pretty easly

Final ladder placings will be

Hawks
Port
Saints
Centrals

then anything can and will happen

Port & Hawks in the GF, sorry Saints but you won't get the chance this time to equal Souths 4 in a row , you just have to be content with 3 x 3. :)

Coach not happy with the coaching ad, Tamba, according to the Post!

There's still another round to go, which will decide who finishes second.

Saints v Port at Griffiths will decide ladder positions, almost regardless of what happens this week.

Ladder will finish :

Grand Final Port vs Saints with Saints making it 4 in a row ;)... Kennedy, Finn, C Phillpott, Porter, Parsons and Poynter to come back for the Saints so your a game man writing them off already... speaking to Walshly and he is very confident of a return however would personally be suprised if it happened.

So that's that  :- Walsh will play in the Finals,

they will need him to get through , but nah :p

cannot see it happening :D

Walsh is doing everything possible to play but even if he does he wont be 100%. But a half fit Walsh will still be more than valuable.

North Cairns to topple the Hawks in an upset and to finish the year on a high.....I hope!
Centrals to pip the Crocs just.
Saints over Souths by 10 plus goals.

It will be a great final series, similar to 2009. All teams have shown they can win it. Saints have toppled Hawks 2 out of 3 times. Hawks have beaten Centrals and Crocs 3 times but haven't always had their way. Crocs have the wood over the Saints (in the seconds aswell).... Every elimination final (1st semi and prelim) will be a cracker. I'll tip the team who goes straight through to the Grand Final. Making the game next week between the Crocs and Saints the biggest of the year IF they both win this week.

And I'll tip the Hawthorn Hawks in the AFL, with Judd to win the Brownlow by 10+ votes. Malthouse to head to GWS and Melbourne to pick the wrong coach again.

Now that the season is nearly done.. Trinity Beach lights & Friday night footy... From the spectators point of view. Good / Bad and should we have it next year?

When we played it was a hazey night so didnt do the lights justice however spectators complained about not being able to see the play very well.

This weekend - Hawks by 30
Saints by 9
Crocs by 40

On the hazy nights and at distance it's difficult to see who's who, but it's a good change during a long season.

Walsh is back in thongs and there's still a month until Grand Final day.

Collingwood are morals in the AFL, Judd to win the Brownlow. Could pay well as a double with the right bookie cos Collingwood people won't pick Judd and Blues won't pick pies.

Melbourne will pick an ex-Melbourne FC player because they'll be cheap. They will in turn be terrible until they appoint a decent leader as coach.

Most definately Friday Night footy,:thumbsu:

Improve lux on the Fretty lights so we have 3 x venues to play at. Then schedule a game every Friday night. All teams would have the opportunity to play.
As Cazaly's and Fretwell have great elevated viewing points which i think is a must for watching night games to stop glare etc, then you would have to be quick to grab a park on the western bank behind the goals at Crathern.

On another note, what a shame to see the 'car' banned at some grounds. The latest being Watsons oval last year. As i can see the reasoning for it, it is not the same looking around seeing the cars or the toot when a specky is taken or watching the footy whilst listening to the races in the comfort of your bucket seat.

I agree, also think this is part of the reason there is not big crowds at the games like there is in country football down south.

Have to agree. Centrals have taken it away at Trinity as well.

Are you serious Lachrilly? Saints aren't good enough to make 4 in a row. I reckon they'll choke. Choke, choke, choke. :p:p:p

It is written in the South Cairns Constitution. Same thing happened last year, Rob Douglas was coaching.

haha lovely dig at Lachrilly and he would been odds on to bite back...

If being the under dogs and winning the last 2 years is choking we are guility ;)... Sad thing is Hawks have lost twice this yr because its good to see teams go through all yr and then choke in the finals :)

As for the South's constitution... Maybe it needs changing as all it is doing is creating negative media towards the Cutters

Well you should know all about choking Flinstone. Think back a couple of years. Plus Saints arnt favourites so if they dont win i would hardly call it choking. Saints have the wood on Hawks, Hawks the wood on Port and Port on Saints so it should be quite a finals.
Checked the tote and i was $1.20 to bite back so loaded up on myself b4 typing this. Made a nice profit

Agree about the cars, I'm all for a toot for a goal or specky. Creates a great atmosphere. Surely the AFL Cairns admin agree with this. What is the reason for not having them around the boundary? I understand Souths and Cazaly's can't do it.
