Agree with all that is being said, Adams has improved the win loss ratio from last year but I guess on field performance is not the only measuring stick for a club. Pride and Effort come to mind along with a lot of other things.

I have been a volunteer before and I would be rethinking my Saturday's if at Souths. There are some passionate Cutters on the forum. What is going on?

You'd be hard pressed to make a case for Centrals winning the flag. Even with their new players, they've been beaten pretty comfortably by Port and Saints and lost to Hawks also. Prior to that they haven't beaten any of the top 3 sides and currently sit 7 games behind 2nd.

I'm not saying they can't possibly win the first semi, but the odds of each game are probably about 6-1, so multiplied out, it's about a 1 in 200 shot of them winning three games in a row to take the flag.

Souths administration have given themselves a god-awful mess to deal with. Can only put off prospective coaches, if you were a prosepective coach and saw any of what went on on Saturday, you would probably never return to the place.

Best thing for a new or prospective coach to do would be to speak to the old coach, but Souths would definitely not want that. They should have paid him out and he should have moved on when they decided to sack him rather than have him coach a team which for some reason doesn't want to play with him. He was their best player on the weekend, easily. This weekend will only be worse when they face the Hawks. I don't care if you don't like the coach, when you take the field, you do what the coach says or the administration should back the coach in not playing you. Couldn't feel more sorry for Souths' coach. The Souths Admin has to have a good hard look at itself, this is not the way to promote AFL.

After reading this i am going to give ned a call. He is thinking of moving to Cairns before xmas and was going to put his hand up to coach South Cairns I am pretty sure Chris would of played under him in Tassy It must of been ugly if what has been repoted is on the money

Ok people enough is enough. First of all, I was at the game on Saturday and will talk about the game of "Footy" if I may. This is what you all whinge about when we have a go at other clubs. I think a few of you should practice what you preach for a start. Maybe I should go through the previous comments and pages and copy and paste to remind of everyone of what they have said on here. There seems to be a lot of short memories. Maybe it's a case of "small minds" syndrome. As for the game (Seniors), Saints were clearly too strong for the Cutters. The Saints were running in packs and were dominating in the clearances. I will say this though, they were sitting on 11 to 13 goals and just seemed to go to sleep for while early in the 2nd half but must have woke up and put their foot down again. I would have thought this would be something to address before the GF if Saints are fortunate enough to get that far. The Ressies was a bit of a scrappy game but both teams fought hard in a low scoring game.

Right, as for the rest of your comments I too was at the game. I must have been watching a different game. I sat on the balcony and didn't hear anything directed at Adams. The crowd on the balcony were yelling out in support of their team. As for down at the can bar, all I could see were a shit load of Saints players and suppporters and not too many Cutters fans. So as for any negative comments I didn't hear anything from the Cutters and who knows if they were committee people or players or were they just loud mouth supporters? As for the presentations, I was again in the room and again didn't hear the "asian" comment nor did I see anything being thrown back at Chris Adams. The same can also be said for the Ressie's presentation which was straight after it. So in essence, stick your comments where the sun don't shine and worry about your own crap clubs. And just for an exercise, go back through the pages and comments to see what you have said in regards to bagging out clubs. You know who you are.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

everything that has been about what went down on saturday is spot on. For all the crap Adams has copped this year on here some guys actually stick up for him and still cop it. There was obvious tension on the ground between the Souths players and Adams. A few Saints supporters had friendly sledge at Adams but there was nothing in it. Then towards the end of the game the Souths ressies who were sitting near the canteen rip into the goal umpire about decisions he was making. It was the only word heard from any souths supporter for the whole game.Flinstone these things happened so stop denying they did. You might not have seen or heard them but they were there. Not sure if Adams has brought it on himself but didn't deserve what happened on Saturday. And i'm sure people have better things to do than hang crap on Souths.

I was told one player threw his award back at the coach and when another player received an award the souths supporters laughed and said 'doesn't matter what you win, you will still be an asian'
Great culture they have going on down at Fretwell no wonder everyone walked out a few years back

Here is my point exactly, "I was told".

All I will comment on is what I have seen. I didn't hear or see anything untoward on the field. I'm also a sponsor of the Cutters and don't have any issues. So I guess in a nut shell Plugg3r, some people like to sensationalise on here to obviously make themselves feel better. You're a bunch of scuzzbuckets that sit on the fence taking pot shots at teams who are down at the moment. Well done men, sit behind your non-de-plumes taking pot shots. It must make all of you feel better. At the end of the day, South Cairns Cutters don't give two shits what you people think and will go ahead and do what they want. Another thing that is really amusing, is that your own clubs are in difficult times but what are you doing for your own clubs? I'll tell you, nothing except go on this forum to bag out any other club that is in reality, actually stronger than yours.:mad::mad:

Ok, Lachrilly you also put crap on Adams on here as did a lot of people. If it means I go back through the pages to copy and paste, so be it. As I have already said recalcitrant, I am only commenting on what I seen and what I heard.

You really don't read comments do you Lachrilly. Engage brain before typing. Try it, it might help in the future.

I'm not denying i have had crack at him over the year. Instead of going back through the posts like you always do just take this one on the chin. These things happened he didn't deserve them.People are sticking up for YOUR coach this time unfortunately its at the expense of your club.

I wasn't able to make it to the ground Saturday so yes I was told what happened.... from 10 or more people. Sorry I didn't act as if I was there first hand to see it. However the people who I spoke to were there and witnessed what occurred.
Ask Adams first hand what happened and also how he was treated if you don't beleive what has been posted.
But then again I guess the Cairns Post are talking sh*t to when then write an article about the coach being unhappy... Guessing Souths got AFL cairns to remove it from the website as I notice it has been taken off.

Because it was in the Footy Record on Saturday. But I guess no one noticed that because you only notice what you want to notice. It's just typical of the crap that gets placed on here. The same thing happened towards the end of last year. Everyone bagged Souths out about being last on the ladder and the fact that Rob Douglas had to re-apply and subsequently missed out. Well I for one, have had enough of the two faced comments posted on here. I'll repeat what I said for those who don't notice or want to notice "I a-m o-n-l-y c-o-m-m-e-n-t-i-n-g o-n w-h-a-t I s-e-e-n a-n-d h-e-a-r-d m-y-s-e-l-f". Or do I need to spell it out in Braille.

As for any further comment, kiss my A#$%.

Tamba, Flinstone ant response to this. Its all on the money so anything other than you confirming all this would be crap.

Sorry mate :( but as I posted last week

I would be unable to attend the game or have a beer with all of you, as I would be in Tully, last Friday at 3pm till last night, I was at dog championship shows, with my Lhasa Apsos chasing a Aust. Championship title , my bitch which cost me $2500 from NZ did so, title, on the weekend but that is another chapter of my life, where I mix footy & dog shows, I do quite regularly drive back for the games when we finish for the day at these shows, try doing 30 minutes from Innisfail or 1 hour from Tully thats how keen I am doing both. :)

But saying that, if what is the chatter on here happened at the weekend game as one who wears his heart on his sleeve for Souths and a long time committe member till the start of this year, I too would be discussed with these happenings, it should not have happened , but if Flinstone says he didn't see anything well I believe him as we both chat with each other regularly after games, he at the top bar me at the bottom can bar

Fair enough Tamba forgot you wern't going to be there. People outside the club have commented on what they saw/was told and the Souths people are denying it like he was always going to so its done.
This week Saints v Port. Fight for 2nd spot. Going to be a great game with both teams wanting the double chance. If Saints can win then i think they are a great chance to go all the way if they lose then its going to be tough.
The reserves will be interesting. Saints were really depleted in the 2's and still beat a Souths team that had a crack. This weeks game against Port will also be a cracker and one not be missed if you can get there early. Two high scoring teams but both times this year have been great defensive battles. Dunston v Wilkie. Whoever can get the most support should win the game and get top spot.

Back to footy!

What a cracking game this weekend for the last home and away before finals!
Unlike the Collingwood V Geelong affair where the game has little or no bearing on the finals, the Saint V Port game will determine who plays Manunda (who should finish top barring an unlikely loss to Souths) in the first week of finals for a spot in the Granny!

There is no playing this one down, this is huge! If we're being honest, this is the first final.

Do Centrals truly have any hope of beating the loser of this game at Cazalys the following week?

It's the equivalent of a qualifying final in a 5 team finals series, where the winner goes to the 2nd semi to face top of the table, while the loser goes to the first semi and needing to win 3 in a row to take the flag. Will no doubt be a cracker. I wonder if the Port faithful will make the trip down the road during the season or still wait for finals.

There have been some cracking games at Griffiths this year and this is sure to be another.

Even if Hawks lose, they can't lose top two, they'll still have a game on the loser of this week. If Hawks lose to Souths, I'll do something outrageous on Grand Final day.

Doubt Centrals could beat any of the three sides and Cazalys only makes it harder. They still rely on too few players and their weaker links will be found out in the big Cazalys ground.

Actions speak louder than words and while play was stopped for a shot on goal on Saturday, not one Souths player went to see if their coach was ok while laying prone on the ground, even after it was him who got the ball into the hands of the forward and earnt him the kick downfield. Spoke volumes and if you didn't see it, you weren't watching the game. I dont' care what you heard or didn't hear.

The reason it's been brought up is because it brings the whole game down, including in particular one player. Whether you think he's a seagull or not, he's a good player and the coach of the club. To be treated like that by his own team was a disgrace. We'd prefer not to have to be involved in something like that next year if Souths decide to sack their coach again, since it's in the constitution to embarrass and undermine their coach every year and they can't seem to do it with any tact.

Everyone is talking about the Cutters players, name names?? Put up or shut up. You all keep saying you don't care what happens at Souths and that you have better things to do, but I see you keep commenting about it. If it apparently bothers you so much why do you keep posting? Why do you take any notice what Cutters do?

You didn't read my last paragraph, did you? It bothers me because it runied a game of football on Saturday and will do so again on Friday, which is not what anybody on either team wants. Somebody from Souths needs to do something to avoid another farce.

Name names? I don't have time to write down every Souths player's name, not one of them went to help him. So look at the team list from Saturday, all of them. I'll tell you the numbers of players I heard things directly from next week after Friday's game.

Knock yourself out Saint, you obviously have nothing else better to do in your obviously boring life.

Saints kicked a point, Adams came down to take the kick in as he should.
He asked for the ball off no21. He shook his head not believing it and gave it up under protest throwing it at his head hard. Adams then kicked it straight to Coatsworth who kicked a goal. no.21 didnt stop shaking his head for minutes after. thats one incident from the day

Mmmm dear me. Same thing happened at the Cutters coach's last club, lost the trust and respect of the playing group as the season went on apparently. 2 years in a row must just be a coincedence.

no surprise to hear of the ADAMS saga.

but the blame is squarely on CUTTERs committee for not doing their homework. adams has a history of destroynig clubs. and Cutters did not do their homework and WERE warned after they discovered that Adams had not been truthful with his resume & history.

the bloke is a screwloose. cutters may never recover from this.

Bull, pull the other one

if so interested put ya big mitt up to help out the club or forever hold your peace,

I'm not on board with is what is happening to Chris, remember he was employed as Assistant Coach first, then stepped up, & has improved the club, some players need to realise he is the 2011 coach, they are not, if he says train you train, they were not offered the job he was. Like it or lump it.

Cutters may never recover from this. Pretty silly comment. Might hurt them for a while but once the dust settles on this they will be fine. Seen and heard of worse things in the league that could hurt a club than that

Hey Guys

Seems like a pretty eventful week in your league!

Just a quick one, I am moving up to Cairns as soon as my football commitments are done down in Brisbane. I am sort of being forced to play for the Cairns City Lions next year through my mum's partners brother being involved in the club.

I have looked at the results and seen that they get belted by 25-30 goals every week but I just wanted to know if it would be a good club to play for as far as there off the field stuff goes. Good people around the club etc etc. And does anyone know if they are planning on recruiting during the off season. Can anyone see them improving at all?
