You specialise in Lap Band surgeries don't you DRK.

Had a look at the clearances last night and notice souths had done quiet well in regards to recruits from Warrnambool. Did a little research and found that only a few of these boys played senior football a ]t Merrivale last year with most playing in the magoos. The district league is an ok league at best but the two's football is appalling. Ok recruits at best...

Tommy have the hawks confirmed a coach? If so have you heard rumors of this guy Jeremy Gleeson?

Any news on Nick Gill yet guys. Lions would have to be the best shot surely??

LOL at Cutters recruits, total duds. Great recruiting drive from the new coach, is that what got him the job, bringing 5 potatoes:eek:. Nice get by President Steve:D

I believe that playing footy over the Easter weekend is a good idea, it's certainly worth a trial. The first game is on the Thursday night which still leaves the weekend free for all those invloved, the Saturday game is up at Port which people can combine with a weekend away and the last game is on the Monday which still gives people time to have a break and enjoy the weekend. I think the league should be applauded for trying something different, anything new and different will always be ridiculed. People should take their blinkers off and look at the bigger picture......

Worth a try and see what happens.
Also remember that they need to make up a week due to the general bye scheduled in July for the AFL game in town. At least this year the players can let their hair down and have a 'few' on the Saturday and not worry about being flat when playing on the Sunday, like last year.

All presidents agreed to it other wise it WOULD NOT have been promulgated

I personally don't agree
as I have 5 dogs shows down around Townsville to attend, where we paid for two months ago

Don't know what Melissa is trying to do, forget Gary as he is a lame duck, she runs the show not him
her weekend might be stuffed, but why ruin everyone else's, & she only attends Saints games

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Melissa.

Can tell you right now that Adam Mueller to the North Cairns Tigers will be the best pick up of the summer. Has been vice-captain at Redlands in the NEAFL for a number of years and pretty sure me made the team of the decade as well!

Now now Flintstone, i'd be worried more so for your own coaching panel before the Manunda Hawks coaching panel.

I said nothing about the Hawks esteemed Coaching Panel. Was simply offering my assistance to a another AFL Cairns club. :p:p:p

More clearances updated today.. The list is building significantly compared to last year already.

2 Rep players last year for Cairns Matt Harth (CHB - Saints) and Kane Ueba (R - Port) both heading off.

Wade Dickson to the tigers has been added (Look out, Mueller, Dickson, Richter adding on to Tennick, Bosen etc etc etc), shaping up well over there Watsons!

Cutters looks like they went for quantity vs quality as the person with the Sweet Undies was saying, I cant find anything about any of the pending clearances, a handful of 2s players, well maybe the lions have a chance at moving up this year...

Oh and I can hear plugg3rs mouth watering at the sound a new clearance put in: Angus McDonald...

You may be surprised,

new coach + new players (who cares what grade they were then, it is the NOW that counts), along with returnees = new revitalized side worth laying odds on,
will improve this yr but also LOOKING to the future

Tamba, I don't want to pull my pants down and take a whopping dump on your parade, but, the club would've shelled out some sought of finances for these guys, relocate etc??

Are you saying you don't care the coach brought a bag of potatoes
with him, your just keen for depth? You said 'who cares what grade they were then it is the NOW that counts'. You think those players will go from being just 'ok' players in a rabble league to being quality
players in a quality league?

You can't polish a terd and never feed strawberries to pigs, but you know this already, yer?

Think you're being a bit harsh there Tamba. As you said, the presidents agreed otherwise it would not have happened. My understanding is the clubs were offered either the GC/Tigers or Easter weekend off, and the vote went to the AFL game. While I'm sure the league was happy with this decision (you would think bar sales will be up this year with an extra 150-200 footballers there), I don't think we can blame anyone else. Have you asked your president which way he voted?
Personally, I think its worth a try, but if we get drastic player shortages over the Easter weekend it will have to be changed back.

As Stone Cold Steve Austin use to say

HELL YEAH

From what I'm hearing it will cost us an arm and a leg.

Payment is as follows

A can of ale (ginger), left over canteen scraps on game day, the chance to be embarrassed by all, gain the wrath of the coaches for no reason, a chance to go fishing in the tropics.

A group of young lads got together and decided to head north to have some fun. yes they are all mates, they will be here for a season or two,
they came of their own accord, the same way the coach came, he wanted a challenge so did the lads. You have to give them some sort of pat on the back for that insteed of kicking their backsides.

Look me up at the Souths games, I'm not hard to miss all 199 pounds of me  and maybe we can have a can of suds :D plus a cold pie

Big Undies just so you know, I'm not Melissa and as Watsons Oval said it was either Easter or play the Sunday after the Suns-Tigers game.......

Anyone who agrees that It's good to play Easter w/end dose not have a life outside of football. It would suck ass to be playing Monday. Would rather play after Afl game or play one less game for the year. Now for a bit of truth. Big Sandi do u even play. I got you pegged as an umpire.

As for your comment Tamba I can assure you that not all presidents were consulted on it let alone agree to it.

Your not saying what I think you are

The league is DICTATING to all AGAIN

Oh my gosh

Tamba, for god sake I know who you are, all good. Was asking a simple question that your good self would've asked if another club did as your club has. My point was easy to grasp, the club would've paid money to get these guys to Fretwell Park.

My point is that if you were looking for depth you may as well of grabbed some throw ball players instead of the bag of potatoes you've purchased:eek: Nice deflect tho:thumbsu:

All clubs voted Easter weekend to go ahead, but I don't think they voted for the day in which they would play. The Monday game is going to be a stinker, over half of the Saints boys are from Victoria and would be heading back for Easter... I reckon that would be the same at a few clubs.

First Hawks boy showed up at Saints training last night... I understand another will follow once his committments drop off as will a few others from the Hawks, points might become an issue. I must admit the Saints boys looked good at training, good depth and over 40 blokes doing full training. Big releif after the exodus of players.

Why turn away blokes who want to be at your club? I can promise you that Saints didn't approach them and were surprised when they showed up. They obviously are not happy with what is happening or has happened at Hawks.
