Right of reply - Tamba I wish you would tell the whole story, you make out that you were being picked on. The truth is you have been warned many times about your abusive language, both from our club & AFL Cairns who you refuse to meet with to reconcile any indifference's. Your actions were not a one off offence, hence the club took a hard line approach which I say was well overdue. I am off the committee as of this Saturday, rest assured that your involvement with this club will be purely as a spectator after you have served your suspension, also rest assured that there is enough old heads around the club that know your history, that will not tolerate your behavior in the future. To the rest of the bloggers here, this is the bloke whom many of the long term AFL Cairns bloggers have written about time & again who has been abusive to the umpires and also to his own committee upon request to quieten down. I for one am very pleased that your not around to bring our great club into disrepute. Poiderr......☺

Get it right that day was the first day I ever used foul language at the umps, most of the time was to offer my glasses and say bloody to them and again it was to a person (off duty un-officating umpire) who had no control over the game that day. he abused me first in front of witnesses but you didn't care to see that. I also didn't get a chance to front the committee to explain / defend my actions so your charges stuck, great democracy on that committee. I tried to get a letter submitted explaining, but was told by the president of the club as to what I could and couldn't put in the letter, Great Kangaroo Court. I get physically assaulted on the day by a committee man when my back was to him and nothing happens to him except to be told don't do it again. I tried to talk to him after and he tells me , the President (who called after him) & everyone around to go and get ----- and in front of children nothing happens to him. The president says he will have a chat with him . I apologized to the people around me after I swore, they accepted because they saw I had been wronged first, but you left that out. You have previously stood up in a committee meeting a verbally abuse and threaten me and nothing happens with it.
AFL Cairns never spoke with me, the umpire director who left in mysterious circumstances emailed and DEMANDED that i meet him and DON"T be late he said . I don't do demands especially at short notice . Souths never ever called me in to chat with me so get that right, all the Penquin use to say keep noise a bit down, I spoke politely to you that day on the field asking you a question and your reply was verminous.
Others love to have a go if the penalty goes the other way, Yes my voice is loud and you can hear me and I do sing out a few times BUT I NEVER SWORE AT THE UMPIRES only that day after I was abused by one off the field. You have been pi--ed off with me for a number of years but I couldn't care less. Over the years I have tried to chat with you to sort things out but you were either rude or ignored me. Maybe you should take time out and have a rest

Haha your delusional... A junior umpire went home that day physically upset. The umpire director asked to see you because you said "Bloody" highly unlikely. A committee member put his hand on your shoulder in an attempt to speak with you in regard to your behavior, is as you quote "Assault". Are you kidding? You did submit a letter to the committee of which was noted, minuted & replied to, suspension still stands. This is not the result of a one off outburst, its due to many that you know of but don't care to accept. I am having a rest as of this weekend, and will be willing to speak to you thereafter, but be warned it will not be as polite as this reply...

Spot on Smy, the quality of talent that has come and gone through the junior Cairns ranks is evidence that Cairns is the logical location for the team.

I didn't know about the AFL funding towards this side but that would help. Cazalys in Cairns is a very profitable operation and from my understanding is not a major sponsor of anyone. With SkyTrans on board I don't think the finances will be a big problem.

Is there a new venue being built on the south side of Cairns where Manunda could possibly be based? I am not sure how this will work with 3 sides operating out of South Cairns (including the Pyramid Power juniors). I would think the Manunda Hawks committee would be aware of this situation.

I don't think overpaying players will be a problem, these would be semi professional footballers who will only be in side if they want to be. You wouldn't have to beg them to play. If it is run professionally, players would toe the line. In the VFL and other state leagues, you often find that players are paid a great deal less than what they could get in lower standard leagues. Players play for the development.

My mail was that Cazalys will only sponsor if Cairns was home base. Geographically, Townsville is a good choice, but Cairns has the strength in numbers, resources and better standard of football.

I know it's a fair while later, but just to clarify. Pyramid Power DO NOT play out of South Cairns. We have a ground at Power Park, on Maher Road in Gordonvale, and have been there for a good few years now.
